Editorial Review for Phobia: Haunted Houses – by Joshua Hinsdale
In Short
Operating since 1996, Phobia 290 has earned the reputation as the scariest, most high-tech thrill in Houston. Tour the dark, terrifying halls of Phobia's five distinct haunted houses, all at one location. Attractions include the Darke Institute, the Asylum mental hospital, and a 3-D Clown Phobia exhibit, where high-tech clown horror is created by lasers, special-effect lighting and pneumatics. Also, check out the Simon Fowler Woods, home of the 290 killer.

This place is really cool. It's not close to where I live, but it's still worth the drive. There's a line to get in sometimes, but it's still totally worth it. Nobody touches you or bothers you, but there's lots of freaky stuff to see.

Ok in a nut shell, there are 5 houses, I'd save the money and buy tickets for 2 of the houses, which was claustraphobia and the 3d clown house, those are pretty good and the actors are insane and seem to crawl out of everywhere. Theres amply parking and the lines move pretty quickly. Heres the killjoy, when entering each building, if possible, try to hang a ways back from the people in front of you, otherwise you'll see all the suprises wayyyyyyyyyyyy before your turn and it really ruins things. We tried to hang back, but they were really trying to move people through, so all the people jumping out ---we saw in advance which really ruined Simon woods. But really didn't care too much for the the asylum or dark insitute (im sure im screwing the names up, lol), just can't think what would of made those 2 better.
Pros: Ample Parking and Access
Cons: They move too many people at a time through, ruining the suprise for people in the back.
