Best Burritos in Town. This is hands down the best place in Houston for a made to order burrito. Ingredients are always fresh and way more variety than other burrito places. Try some roasted garlic and the BBQ sauce on your burrito - it's really good!

Best Burrito!. My husband and I have heard people talk about Freebirds, but we had never tried it. Finally, we gave into our gut instinct and gave this place a try. We were amazed! We were pleasantly greeted, and we told them it was our first time dining there. They were so warm and friendly, and went down through the whole ordering process. Everything was a breeze, and all the ingredients looked so fresh. The taste? My goodness! It was amazing. Everything you wanted...was there. Not only was it fresh, but it was spread evently throughout, and you just didn't taste a glob of an ingredient. The music was awesome. They were playing songs from the 90's, and the decor was just so fun, and inviting. People kept coming in, and ordering so you know it's good when it's constantly busy. We left stuffed, and happy, and agreed that we'd be back for sure :)

Build a great burrito your way. This is THE place to get a burrito. It is built to order just the way you want. Fair price for the largish portions. Bonus is the AMY's ice cream next door.

Great burrito with WIFI. I love the burritos here and they have the no tortilla option as well for those low carb people. I like to come here eat lunch and work on stuff on the computer. Having WiFi was a great idea.

2nd Freebird opened in Houston Area. Freebirds is AMAZING!!! What's even better is that within the last year another Freebird's opened in the Houston area (with a Jamba Juice next door) - Bay Area Blvd, not far from I45 (opposite side of freeway from mall) across from Taco Cabana. I had my first Freebird a year ago and I have been hooked ever since. Great for college students because you can get a Monster and eat off it for days. Plus you can get Stamps to get Stuff(ed) with every burrito purchase (you get Freebird T's, hats or a free burrito).

An Aggie institution sets up a Houston nest.. The Scene
The College Station institution debuted in 1987, catering to hungry students with its fresh food, good prices and fun atmosphere. The Houston location is in Shepherd Plaza and judging from the long lines, this incarnation won't lack in popularity. Here's the routine: Pick your burrito size and type of tortilla, choose your beans, rice and/or meat, then load up on the veggies as your personal burrito assembler walks you through the chaos. The end product is an ample baby-leg of a burrito, complete with one of Freebirds' tasty sauces and wrapped in foil.

The Food
Be sure you're hungry if you order any Monster-size burrito--these babies are measured in pounds. You'll need more than 30 minutes before you can swim if you order the Super Monster: It weighs 2 3/4 pounds.

LOVE IT!. Freebirds is one of my favorites places to eat in the world! The food is amazing and you don't go home hungry that's for sure. Anyone who hasn't tried it should, because you don't know what you are missing. My boyfriend and I go there when ever we are in downtown because we love the place so much. It's kind of like fast food but it's almost a restraunt, the environment is a lot of fun. It can get crowded but it's worth it just for the food.

Best Burritos Ever!. Freebirds is the most amazing burrito experience you will ever have. Forget the lesser knock offs (Chipotle, I'm looking in your direction), Freebirds tops them all. Better ingredients, wider variety, cooler employees.

Worth a trip to see the staff. Right by the office. We actually go in to play "count the peircings on the server". Very interesting staff but they are always super nice and quick!!! Food is good for a quick lunch, not worth a dinner trip unless your still in college or pregant having a craving. Healthy options with the Wheat Tortilla and chicken breast.
