Chocolicious. My girlfriends and I stop in from time to time and treat ourselves to some delicious chocolate..we feel guilty together, but the place is just too darn cute delicious, and fun!!
Unique Yummy Chocolate.
I am like totally addicted to this place. Yes it is a bit pricy, but it is the best chocolate. I love finding some cute quirky something chocolate to give to someone just because and the chocolate being so incredible.
The funky unique ideas for my friends make going in there an adventure. I look around and get a little something for them and a little something for me; it is a win, win situation for everyone. After all it is Chocolate that makes the world go round!
Melts my mouth...... Love their chocolaty fudge brownies. Ice cream is off the chain and the environment is wonderful!
A Dream Come True for Kids and Adults.
It's funny to see adults go in here and go gaga...like they do at a bar. "Why didn't they have places like this when we were growing up?" they ask each other.
They have perfect office gifts, although I think the moulded chocolate looks too waxy and manufactured. Nobody wants a Hershey's Bar. Well, I say that, and Hershey's is probably still the #1 candy.
It's $12 for a slice of sugared cocoa cake from heaven. The problem is there are 10 cakes to choose from...and you know they don't give samples of the cake.
They do, however, give samples of their fresh ice cream. After three samples, you might talk yourself out of getting anything, because your sugar tooth will be satiated. Go for the Girl Scout Cookie Thin Mint...it has "thin" in the title.
They have dog treats here that look good enough for human consumption. Dogs can't eat chocolate btw.
My favorite location is the University Blvd. location because it looks a little bigger than the West Alabama location. Both locations have horrible parking.
The Chocolate Bar sends plenty of messages to tempt its Facebook fans. They sometimes have musicians play at their University location too.
Love this place.
This place is amazing. There is anything you could ever want in chocolate here. Ice cream, cakes, truffles, gifts, even chocolate covered cereal - like chocolate covered Lucky Charms cereal - who would have thought?
We always go for ice cream and often come home with other candy.
Great selection!
Nothing But Fresh Ingredients Daily. Everyone at the Chocolate Bar is Passionate about their Chocolate Creations and Masterpieces. I can attest that they use nothing but fresh berries daily. My family owns the first commerical berry farm in Texas and I can assure you after many deliveries that I have never seen a stale fruit on their shelf. The owners are perfectionists and they have grown to two locations in the last decade. They offer nothing but the best chocolate you will ever eat in your life. Their cakes, my favorite is Aunt Ettas, is moist and creamy. If you ever have an issue or a question ask to speak to one of the owners and they will be happy to answer any question you may have. They offer anything you could want and if its not on the shelf, you can special order it and they will be happy to do so. They create holiday wreaths for the holidays and you will find unique gifts there for your friends. They have been around for nine years and are well known in Houston and will be around for many more years.
REACTION TO STALE,STALE,STALE. Let me state up front that I am one onf the owners of The Chocolate Bar and I understand that my opinion may be perceived as somewhat biased. I believe there were 2 errors made during this person's visit. The first is that he/she was misinformed by one of our staff members; for which I take full responsibility. The second is that there is considerable misinterpretation by the reviewer. Here are the FACTS: Our chocolate covered strawberries are made fresh several times each day. Every morning, the opening Chocolatier pulls ALL of the strawberries from the previous day. There is almost no way there can be any mold on a strawberry that has been in our store for less than 24 hours. Once the strawberries from the previous day have been pulled, they are brought into the kitchen, chopped and immediately frozen for use in Snowberry ice cream; which is one of our largest selling ice creams. In 9 years of business, no one to our knowledge has ever become ill. Again, the strawberries are not stale! I am very sorry that this reviewer had a negative experience. I hope that he/she will return to THe Chocolate Bar. Fortunately, the majority of our reviews from EVERYWHERE are glowing. We work very hard to achieve a positive experience for everyone.
loooove their chocolate ice cream.
im so grossed out by the past reviewer, thanks for sharing that with us, im never going to eat any fruit stuff from them. i hope you can contact the owner and let them know that.. perhaps they can change their practices...
back to my review, their chocolate truffle ice cream is TO DO FOR. ive had some of their cakes/pies and those are delish too.
STALE, STALE products. Buyer BEWARE. I have visited the Chocolate Bar in Rice village twice with my family and once more by myself, when my work took me near the rice village. My favorite used to be Snowberry ice-cream. I ordered it as usual and was admiring the other creations when one of the employees came up to me and asked me if I needed anything else. Out of curiosity I asked him what they do with the chocolate covered strawberries when they start turning bad (I could already see mold on 2 of them) He commented that the owners of the Chocolate Bar were very smart. Every other night, they have us check the Chocolate covered fruits and take out the ones that have turned bad or are turning bad. I liked that. What shocked me was his comment after that. He said that the owners have the stale fruit cut into pieces and use them in their ice-cream as filling. Imagine that. I was eating Snowberry ice-cream with Strawberries that had been pulled off the shelves because they were not worth consuming. I was disgusted and have wowed never to go to either of their locations again and have passed on the word to all my colleagues at Baylor. I wonder why the Health Department hasn't shut them down. I am definitely informing them. BUYER BEWARE! Now that I think about it, even their cakes are dry, as if they have been on the shelves really long.
Best Chocolate Cake. Aunt Ettas Chocolate Cake is the best you could possibly have.
