The chocolate bar is like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory reincarnated for the 20th century. Everything is chocolate all the time, from the cakes, to the cookies, to the lollipops and the frozen hot chocolate. Get it? Chocolate.

With a name like Chocolate Bar, you can rest assured the hot chocolate is stellar.
AMAZING!!! MUST GO!.
THE CHOCOLATE BAR IS AMAZING!!!!!! I'm not origionally from Houston. I'm in Houston for an internship and came across The Chocolate Bar in a google search. The title gave it away for me. I was sold. I am a huge chocolate lover and love this place. They have candies cakes and ice cream. What more could you want?
The only complaint I had while I was there was the service. Both times I have gone there have been quite a few workers but they weren't very attentive. They were more concerned with chatting with each other than helping me. They weren't terrible but they could have been better. It was not even close to being bad enough that I wouldn't go again.
If I could I would eat at The Chocolate Bar everyday. The food is wonderful. Warning: don't go on a full stomach and make sure you are ready to enjoy all the wonderful things it has to offer!
GO ON NOW GO!!
Overpriced, Underfresh.
I used to work in a bakery, and I can guess as to how long their items are allowed to sit in the display case.
The Chocolate Bar is a very large bakery, and its size and location mean it can safely charge higher prices. However, where its size should mean faster turnover and more freshness, the quality of their deserts is just not that good, ex. dry cake, chocolate-dipped items that remain on shelf too long - stale/dry inside, cookies with few mix-ins that are $2.25 a piece. Deserts are big but not good.
Save your money and your calories.
You've got to check it out!. If you haven't tried this place yet then you must check it out. Good chocolate and lots of fun. We always take our out of town friends there and they love it. Good for a pick me up, birthday, or date.
awsome. I'm a chocoholic and this is heaven. Every cake is amazing and the ice cream is incredible. I have to try everything but no dissapointment so far. Great for after movie going
WOW! WOW! WOW!. I have been a customer of The Chocolate Bar almost from the beginning. I have been visiting the Alabama location regularly, and I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the 2nd location in Rice Village. All I can say is Wow!!! The place is out of this world. The service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. They have a huge window where you can watch the chocolate makers in action. It was not as crowded as the original store but I suspect that won't last for long.
Not happy with the service. I don't know about this Alabama location, but when went to this new place located at Rice village, I wasn't very happy with the service I got. The price tag for the cherries I was planning to buy was 2.95$, but the cashier tried to charge me 9.95$. Of course I complained about it and after a prief discussion with the manager the cashier told me that there was a wrong prize in the tag and the right price is 9.95$. In the name of the good customer service, I would have expected them to let me buy the cherries with the price marked on the price tag, but that never happened. So I just simply desided not to go back there ever again.
Best Brownie in Town.
Chocolate Bar is the best place for a coffee and dessert. They have great chocolate desserts. The brownies are the best in town. Lovely decor, very friendly and trainded staff.
Worth visiting.
Delicious ice cream!. We really enjoy the ice cream every time we visit. The smaller size cups are usually just the right size. I recommend the German Chocolate. Yum! The staff is friendly but parking is tough. We haven't done any shopping on the other side of the store but it all looks very good.
Bad Service - not worth it. The chocolate ice cream was to die for but the attitude of the staff is not worth it. You have to ask to be waited on. If I were the owner or manager, I would definately enroll my staff in customer service classes or spend the time to train them myself. Part of enjoying your treat is enjoying the entire experience which includes service!! It doesn't matter how good the product if service is not good...most folks won't return. I won't.
Hair in my cake!. First glance I pull off a small hair on top of my cake. Then first bite and I pull a hair out and think Ok, maybe (hopefully) it's my hair. Then my husband found a hair, and I've found two more - all in one piece of cake! Guess it didn't stop us from eating it (delicious) but come on folks!
