The Scene – This store is packed with clever little novelties--cell phones, hand tools, cars--all created in luxuriously rich chocolate. Through a large window at the rear, you can look into the preparation area where all this chocolate magic is concocted. But the heart of the operation is a marvelous ice cream cooler with a dozen stunning, made-on-site flavors that use chocolate to varying degrees. Patrons stand four deep to buy these frozen treasures. – – The Goods – Along with the shelves lined with assorted chocolate oddities, there's also a traditional candy…

STALE, STALE products. Buyer BEWARE
by Vet123 at Citysearch
I have visited the Chocolate Bar in Rice village twice with my family and once more by myself, when my work took me near the rice village. My favorite used to be Snowberry ice-cream. I ordered it as usual and was admiring the other creations when one of the employees came up to me and asked me if I needed anything else. Out of curiosity I asked him what they do with the chocolate covered strawberries when they start turning bad (I could already see mold on 2 of them) He commented that the owners of the Chocolate Bar were very smart. Every other night, they have us check the Chocolate covered fruits and take out the ones that have turned bad or are turning bad. I liked that. What shocked me was his comment after that. He said that the owners have the stale fruit cut into pieces and use them in their ice-cream as filling. Imagine that. I was eating Snowberry ice-cream with Strawberries that had been pulled off the shelves because they were not worth consuming. I was disgusted and have wowed never to go to either of their locations again and have passed on the word to all my colleagues at Baylor. I wonder why the Health Department hasn't shut them down. I am definitely informing them. BUYER BEWARE! Now that I think about it, even their cakes are dry, as if they have been on the shelves really long.
