Editorial Review for The Chocolate Bar – by Eric Gerber
The Scene
This store is packed with clever little novelties--cell phones, hand tools, cars--all created in luxuriously rich chocolate. Through a large window at the rear, you can look into the preparation area where all this chocolate magic is concocted. But the heart of the operation is a marvelous ice cream cooler with a dozen stunning, made-on-site flavors that use chocolate to varying degrees. Patrons stand four deep to buy these frozen treasures.
The Goods
Along with the shelves lined with assorted chocolate oddities, there's also a traditional candy counter filled with by-the-piece treats, like chocolate-dipped slices of fruit and bonbons. There's even a stunning trompe l'oeil "pizza" that's so realistic, you can almost smell the pepperoni--except it's made entirely of multicolored chocolate. Also count on ever-changing displays of holiday-specific gift baskets.

First glance I pull off a small hair on top of my cake. Then first bite and I pull a hair out and think Ok, maybe (hopefully) it's my hair. Then my husband found a hair, and I've found two more - all in one piece of cake! Guess it didn't stop us from eating it (delicious) but come on folks!
Pros: lots of choices
Cons: hairs in my cake!

Stopped in during a girls night out. We were doing a progressive meal and completely were satisfied with the dessert here. Part of the shop is a little store and the other side is a little cafe type section. It was a bit crowded but it was also Saturday. The girls and I all shared and after trying the rocky road, mint, smore, and oreo cake, I was happily satisfied. Every single cake we tried was excellent. We also all left with a bag in hand and goodies inside. Kids will love it, it can be a date spot or a spot to drop by and pick up a dessert before going home. Do yourself a favor and try this place. You will not be disappointed.
