“The service tends to be somewhat slow and the service staff is unique but all in all they manage to pull it off.”

Excellent, creative Italian, southwestern menu. Italian nachos are amazing. The slice and salad is a great bargain- try "The Ugly". The grilled chicken breast is always perfection. Service is friendly and attentive.
My family and I went out for dinner and we decided to try this place out, we were not disappointed because when we went in the place looks beautiful and smells wonderful.
I like most things, but this was blah!. Tried to ignore the other reviews and give it a try. Wish I had taken other reviews into consideration. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs as I figured it would be hard to mess that up! Wrong ... my meal, and my friend's meal was bland, no seasoning, we kept trying to put salt and pepper on it, but it never got to a place where it was good. The restaurant was almost empty and the waiter was still slow, unfocused, and not very attentive. Now I know ... not a restaurant to visit in the future.
what prison food must taste like.
Seriously.... I question people's taste buds. I suppose if you aslo think Cadillac Bar is great food - you would enjoy this place. Maybe these people who think this place is good- think Fast Food is like real food.
After reading the other reviews, I was so hopeful...
While dining at this place...I was just hopeful I wouldn't get sick.
If I weren't so hungry... I wouldn't have been able to eat a few bites of my mediocre meal... it was the kind of situation where you are even afraid to send it back because I didn't think anything else would be better.
My favorite place in Houston!!!. Someone took me to SW when I first moved here and I haven't found a better Italian place yet. Great food, great services, fast on to-go orders and nice selection at the bar. If you blink - you'll miss it driving down Shepherd so keep an eye out for the green awning. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Excellent for the price. Food was excellent, service was great. I definatley recommend the Italian Nachos.
'salright. I've been to the Spaghetti Western a few times, but I'm not too terribly impressed. It's alright, I suppose. I do really like their Italian Nachos, but so far that's the only thing I've been super crazy about. Oh, the breadsticks are awesome, too. My best friend had the stuffed shells the other day and it was 3 shells with cheese stuffing only and some sauce and that was it...no salad or anything. I've had the southwestern lasagna (it's called something like that) and it's alright. Lots of chicken chunks in it and the salsa it's topped with is tasty. I wasn't impressed with the presentation. My piece of lasagna was completely falling apart and was pretty much a slop of ingredients covered with salsa. I also didn't feel very lasagna-ee about it. If I wanted a whole bunch of sour creamy chicken enchilada filling one day, that's exactly what I'd order, though. They do have a pretty solidly stocked juke box, though...I feel like I'm still listening to Classic Vinyl on my XM when I flip through the pages. I'll probably be back and try a few other things, but it's not amazing or anything.
Nice decor, food so so. Ate there last night 3/3/09 and overall the food was slightly less than average. The breadsticks were way underbaked and soft, I like my breadsticks chewy, firm and a little crunchy. My veggie pasta was okay but chef forgot to add much seasoning. Being vegetarian I like my veggies tasty, not simply steamed. My friend had the salmon & angel hair pasta. The salmon was good but chef again forgot to add salt or other seasoning to the pasta. We ordered spinach on the side and it was very tasty so we knew the chef had access to salt and lemon and other spices. We took leftovers home and plan to doctor them up for another meal. The decor was nice but the floor looked dirty. I wouldn't want my children crawling on it. And the little waitstaff guy busily swept the floor while we were trying to eat, gross. Better to do that after closing. We may try the pizza next time to see if it warrants a third visit.
love their fried raviolis!. great service. lots of food for the price! highly recommended if you are starving and on a budget!
I did not like this and will not go back..
The only reasons I did not give this place 1 or 2 stars is because my brother liked his food and the other posters that say the service is good are right. I got the "Pasta Man's Specialty" which is listed under their Specialties. It has a crab cake, a grilled chicken breast and crawfish tails in a gralic sauce over orzo. I thought that sounded good. Save for the chicken breast, it wasn't. I'd like to know why they felt they could call it a crab cake at all being that as far as I could see, there wasn't a stitch of crab in it. The orzo was way over cooked. It was essentially mush, which ruined that particular portion of the dish.
It could be I caught them on a bad night but with the number of other restaurants to choose from, I'm not taking that chance.
