“The desserts were fun and flavorful in bite size portions too.”
“But don't even try to touch the desert, it's all look nice but when you eat it, it's like the worst taste desert i have ever had, too sweet, sometime tasteless, sometime bitter!”
“The green tea ice cream was fabulous I wish I could have fit more into my stomach at that point.”
“Miyako and Little Miyako are both great deals with pretty good sushi.”
“This is a pricey buffet, but the selection and variety is reflected in what it offers.”
“It's always a good place for a nice dinner with friends and they have accomodated us with anywhere from 3 - 20 guests at a time.”
“One more thing, I think everything was great and I would love to go back soon.”
“:) Service was friendly and prompt and a waiter was always there to make sure the table was clean.”
“The desserts were fun and flavorful in bite size portions too.”
“You would think that as a long term customer who has been here at least 20 times and on other occassions brought big parties of 6 twice that they would make some accomodation.”
Best buffet EVER!.
Perhaps I found it so amazing because I generally consider buffet restaurants to be of poor quality, but I really thought this place was amazing. So much variety and so many cultures represented! Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese- they even had maduro!!! (fried plantains)
Amazing beef, chicken, seafood, and sushi. My least favorite was the dessert which is totally fine by me. When the rest of the food is that good, who saves room for dessert??
Not all that great but good enough. I went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The atmosphere is quiet and nice, which I like but the food was not all that wonderful to me. Service is okay, overall it was a decent dinner. Might not be on my top favorites but I can I've them another chance in case a friend or somebody I know wants to go again.
17 per person, worst spent money. i go to celebrate my anniversary to have a meal for two (34 not including beverage, tips or tax). starting off the waiters looked like they've never smiled in their life, bothered when asked for anything, and seems like they're only good for picking up plates, didn't even refill our drinks. the meat guy also bad attitude, and when i asked for a specific meat on the menu, he said this is what i have (they advertise different meats but cook what they want?!) i said my husband only eats meat cooked well, what do you have? and he just served him different meats on his plates, not one was cooked passed medium! the sushi offered is not the usual that you would get lets say kona miyako, very off things. not one thing was consired yummy, all items were "allright", even the dessert, the only good part were the cookies so we filled up on that. i feel i spent over 40 on cookies. they use to have the meat brought to the tables like fogo de chao with the green and red card but got rid of that which was the best part, the meat was the reason we went and it had alot of fat! not going there again.
Take more then you sign for. I've gone twice- first with a friend and second with my wife. All you can eat meat for me and sushi for her- can't be beat. Although it's mostly self service for lunch, the service was good- never had an empty cup. Unfortunately a good experience was ruined when I saw my bank account- I tipped well, 20% (especially being a self service all you can eat type of place) but it looks like the staff wasn't happy with that. They decided to take more than I offered (signed for) and rounded up. Granted, we're talking 80 cents here, but I still felt jipped.
Best Sushi Restaurant -- and now that have Brazillian meats!.
This will be the second year where we're bringing our staff to Todai for our year-end party. Last year, they totally enjoyed it and just loved the quality and variety. We all had a great time!
Two years ago, we had brought them to Tokyo One which was a huge disappoitment. I had made reservations and when my group arrived, they said they don't/didn't take reservations. The variety of sushi was boring and very limited. And being the one paying for the tab -- we thought it was a huge miss and def not worth it. We and myself individually, has not returned since.
Todai on the other hand -- FRESH sushi, sashimi, rolls and handrolls. Not only that, thay have Churrascaria Brazilian meats!!! LOVE IT!!!! Todai is also PERFECT for large groups -- they are accomodating and their space is HUGE! We look forward to heading there again tomorrow for our Year-End Party.
Stomache Upset Todai.
I have read so many reviews about this resturant that I could not wait to go! I wished I had of waited to NEVER!
There was plenty of food but, it did not have a good flavor or taste. There was a rotten smell in the area by the outside entrance. By the time I made it home, I was bloated with this sour, rotten food. I vomited 3 times afterwards. I took a guest with me and I did not want to ruin the visit for them so , I did not say anything. She called me about three hours after we left the resturant and told me how sick she was. I was relieved, (not that she was sick) but that she mentioned it first. I was then able to tell her how horrible I felt from the food.
I recommend NO DAI for TODAI!!!! This was terrible.
Huge Seafood Buffet.
This buffet has a ton of different kinds of seafood. I've actually experienced the most "out there" food item at Todai...salmon fish eggs. They're little jelly like balls about the size of jelly beans. When I put them into my mouth and bit down, the eggs burst and release a really salty liquid.
I really enjoyed the crepe station. You get to choose your own fillings, creams and sauces to make made to order crepes.
Sad Birthday Girl.
We went to Todai Monday for my birthday. The meal started out with an ICE COLD glass of Cabernet. I had to send that back. The buffet looked like things on it had been out since lunch. It was only 7:30 and half of the offerings were either extremely picked over or just GONE. Some of the sushi had a funny smell to it and the Ebi was like rubber. At least the Miso Soup was good, but how can you screw that up...
The meat was SALTY and RAW. For someone that is not a seafood fan and likes his meat cooked (my fiance) there was pretty much NOTHING for him to eat! Oh and there was no Lamb on the menu. This was what I was looking forward to the most.
What it boils down to is this... If you want "meat on a stick", go to Fogo De Chao. If you want sushi, go to Miako. If you want crablegs... even Red Lobster is better than this place. We most certainly WILL NOT be going back.
The best thing I can say about this place was that the wait staff was courteous.
Very Good, But Overpriced. This would be a 5 star place if it was more reasonable priced. On a week, the dinner is $31.95, which is too much for this place. $21.95 would be more in line with this type of place. Even a child over 6 has to pay 1/2, which is way too much for a child based on what they can eat. Lower the price and this place will be a 5 star place.
Best Sushi Buffet in Town - PLUS MORE!.
This sushi buffet def beats Kirin and TokyoOne by far! Kirin def isn't as fresh as Todai and TokyoOne has a super weak selection compared to Todai.
I actually brought my company to TokyoOne for a Christmas Party and they forgot our reservation, so we had to split into 2 small tables --- it's not something ideal for a company who's trying to build camaraderie. The selection was minimal and boring -- I remember thinking to myself, we should've just paid $2 more for each person for dinner and gone to Todai! Todai not only has a great selection of sushi (always fresh, they even have sashimi!) but it's always super fresh, but it's has Brazilian meats! My company can't afford the $50-something buck Brazilian meat dinner at Fogo, but TODAI's a great compromise. Best of both worlds. Asia and Brazil.
Staff has always been attentive to my BF and I and I would say the staff is great! Def worth the $$.
