Sleek environs set the tone for a scene out of "Indochine," though the food is a little less glamorous.

In Short – Rattan fans, high ceilings, bamboo stalks and lush hardwood floors make you forget you've traversed the parking lot of one of Houston's many strip centers to get to this upscale Vietnamese bistro. While several dishes like bo cuon banh trang (lemongrass beef spring rolls) and vung tau (special grilled catfish) are noteworthy, dishes sometimes champion style over substance. Solid staples like bo luc lac will not disappoint. Large, tender and sea-fresh shrimp dishes are also winners.
Great Ambiance.....Terrible Food

Even though this is the closest Vietnamese restaurant to my house, I refuse to eat here. It's overpriced, not authentic, and doesn't taste good. I don't know how else to put it....
- Pros: Beautiful Restaurant
- Cons: Not Authentic, nor is it prepared well.
Fair Pho

Service was great. Waiter was very nice and attentive (wish I could remeber his name and give him props). Restaurant was very busy (Friday lunch rush). Pho soup w/seafood was good, but not great. At $8 a bowl, I would not order again. I didn't order anything else. - My co-worker ordered the Tso Chicken, and she liked it.
- Pros: Good service, awesome waiter
- Cons: a little pricey for o.k. soup

We ate at the bar - perhaps a mistake - but were recommended (for spicier chicken dishes) the Kung Pao and the Garlic Chicken. Aside from the fact that their "spicy" came only with the bottled hot red sauce we added, the actual dishes were almost identical both in taste and blandness. I would not recommend.
- Pros: Decent atmosphere
- Cons: The blandest Vietnamese food I have ever had
