Editorial Review for St. Regis Hotel, Houston – by Joshua Hinsdale

The Scene
The 12-story Houston mainstay is one of the city's most sophisticated hotels. Hidden away discreetly between the Galleria and River Oaks areas, the mahogany-and-marble St. Regis offers unsurpassed service (including 24-hour butler service) and breathtaking luxury in even its most basic accommodations. The hotel is a favorite for upscale functions, and the afternoon tea is a long-standing tradition with Houston's well-heeled crowd.

The Details
This Starwood operation contains 232 guest rooms and suites traditionally appointed and featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. Standard rooms are 500 square feet, with other rooms even larger. All have superior linens, large-screen TVs and honor bars. There is a climate-controlled outdoor pool and fitness facility, four restaurants and lounges on-site, including the New American Remington Restaurant and the dark and romantic Remington Bar. The on-site spa offers a broad assortment of massages, body treatments and skin care services.

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Came to Houston for business and stayed for pleasure After my first night at the St Regis I was amazed with the atmosphere of this luxury hotel. I had been at several luxury hotels in the world, but the coziness of its social areas and the service of their associates has no comparison. Friday came and I did not go back home. Instead I decided to bring my wife over to experience the hotel with a different perspective. Oh my god!! What a weekend we had. They pampered us like never before and thanks to its convenient location, my wife was able to enjoy shopping at some of the most exclusive stores around the country and I was able to enjoy the remington restaurant and some great cigars at the hotel bar.

Pros: Location, Ambience adn service

Cons: .... are there any? I think I'm in love with this place

It's a wonderful place for a weekend with you loved one, it's hidden from street view, but still close to all areas of the city, made it very easy for us to get around with minimal trafic. Galleria, Downtown, and Montrose areas. Great service, we stayed in one of the suites and we were service by a great butler, he unpacked for us and gave us complementary French pressed coffee. Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Lobby, wonderful, very romantic

Cons: We only stayed 2 nights
