“Expensive food but great cheesecake and soup”
“Our server took good care of us, always refilling our drinks and made us feel like regulars on our first visit.”
“paid $13 for 2 slices of rye bread and a hunk of dry lunch-meat style turkey.”
“Truly the only negative we really find when we eat at there is that the menu is so huge we wonder if we'll ever get to taste everything.”
“Who knew it's a great breakfast place”
“The servers are very pleasant and helpful.”
“The menu is pretty extensive and the prices are reasonable.”
“About 2 mins later our initial waiter pops up with the returned food in hand with a MAJOR attitude, and she was like "you don't like the food!”
Better than any other "Jewish Style" Deli in Houston. Always gets the order right. Huge portions, friendly wait staff. Love this place.
Food Is Amazing, Service is Subpar. The food here is amazing, every single thing that I've tried I have really liked/loved. HOWEVER, the cashiers that answer the phones are either rude or can't answer a simple question (ie do you have eggs benedict? or what time do you close?). I usually try to use the takeout service because every time I eat there a group of waitresses are standing around right by the entrance talking and kind of ignore you when you walk in. Then when you do get seated 1/2 the time the waiter you get is either slightly rude or never checks on you. The bus people are always friendly and our drinks are refilled as needed. For the prices that they charge, I expect the quality of food that they have (they do have great quality, fresh food), but also better service. They should also have longer hours.
mediocre food, high prices, pushy service.
wait staff order you around and keep pushing stuff that you've already said you can't eat. ask about something on the menu, and he rolls his eyes like he can't be bothered.
food was mediocre, not even as good as a random diner would make.
prices are ridiculous for the type and quality of food. if you want to spend that amount of money on a meal, there are are so many other places with better food and service without the attitude.
Diet-busting sandwiches. I went with an office group for lunch. It was extremely crowded & noisy. Service was prompt. Water glasses were refilled, pickles replenished, so the bus staff was great. The sandwiches are man-sized, on the expensive side but full of meat, etc. No-frills atmosphere. Parking a little challenging being in a strip center in the Galleria.
WOW. I met my match when I ordered a sandwich at this joint....super stoned, and I couldn't even eat half!
So far so good. Being from New York this is as good as it's going to get unless we all fly to NY for lunch! Roast beef is my favorite dish, the bread could be a little more crusty'hard. If the bread is too soft all the drippings from meat, sauce, etc tear up the bread.
Best Corned Beef EVER. I visited the deli this past weekend. I am glad that I ignored some of the garbage posted on this website because I found it to be better than I expected from seeing it on tv on diners, drive-ins and dives. My grand parents are from New York so I know what good deli food is like. Trust me, they have all my favorites! The corned beef sandwich on rye was amazing. My husband ordered the Reuben, which you can't help but gasp at when they set it down in front of you. We shared an eclaire with the kids and we still had enough to take home. Our server took good care of us, always refilling our drinks and made us feel like regulars on our first visit. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who has an appetite for good food.
A deli worth eating at. I don't travel to the Galleria area very often but when I do, I am always sure to stop at Kenny & Ziggy's Deli. I was never a big fan of sandwiches until my girlfriend made me try one here and now I can't help but come here whenever I get a chance. I usually get the Philly Cheesesteak which is amazingly cheesey and filled with yummy onions and peppers. I have also tried many other sandwiches including the corned beef, pastrami and the Monte Christo. They are all delicious! The only problem I ever encounter is the long wait on somedays, especially the weekends. If you are ever on this side of town and want to try a good sandwich, then be sure to go to Kenny & Ziggy's.
single mom treated like trash. This incident happened several months ago, and I am still infuriated. I went here with my 3 year old son and ordered a dish for me, a dish for him, a side of veggies and a side of fruit (they had no healthy kid's choices and I always offer this to my son, every meal) We then ordered a dessert and finished eating. My son needed to use the restroom, so I left a cash tip, and then took my son to the restroom in the back of the restaurant. (You pay at the counter on the way out) When I came out of the restroom, the manager (possibly owner?) ran up to me, cash in hand, angrily telling me that in no way $10 would cover my $50 meal. I tried to explain to him that was the tip, but he did not believe me and walked me to the cashier and handed her my $10 to apply to my check. I explained to her that was the tip and paid the rest with my check card. She immediately did the math and realized her manager's error and turned red. I was so shocked that I even forgot to take back my tip!!!!!! The manager rudely walked me out and never apologized, still assuming I was walking my tab! Why is it that when a single mother walks in anywhere, she is assumed to be destitute? Kenny and Ziggy-- You suck!!! I am a very successful, intelligent woman with a 6 figure income. I work in commodities trading and I have degrees in physics, biology, and art. I am glad I finally wrote this review. I have told everyone I know this story and implored them to never patronize your establishment again. Have some respect. I am a little sad because I was a big fan of the food (although grossly overpriced) I loved the desserts. But, you treated me with such disrespect, I will never set foot in your horrible place again.
