Favorite "Spot" in Galveston for Burgers. The Spot is our favorite hang-out for enjoying a great hamburger and just watching the ocean along the seawall. I love their Oyster Po-Boy. When they ring your pager, you pick up your food tray and can add everthing you want added to your sandwich at their "fixin's" bar. They also have an upstairs seating area to enjoy the open-air view, during warmer months. The downstairs section is enclosed and air-conditioned, with windows looking out to the ocean. They also have a separate bar section to the right of the restaurant, for those wanting something a little more "potent." Just look for the place along the seawall with all the cars and motorcycles parked out front.
Excellent. So, once again I ventured to Woody's at the end of the island. They asked us not to come the first time because my son was with us. This time as we went up the ramp there was a sign...NO FOOD! We thought maybe they didn't want us to bring any. Wrong..they don't serve food. So we asked, "where should we go". The answer..the spot. And were they right. Great place. Very reasonable prices. And a fabulous view. Would go again.
I Love The Spot. I live a block away from The Spot I love their huge burgers, hot wings, waffle fries, and cold drinks. The atmosphere & view are awesome. My favorite menu is green burger and hot wings not to mention the mix drinks at The Squeeze & Drip. Finding a good table at the Tiki bar is sometimes difficult. I would say the only problem I have is that I tend to drink a bit too much :). but I just walk home.
Fun Atmosphere, Standard food.. We wanted a fun place to sit ocean side, after searching via city search and other reviews I knew what to expect. If you are with a group FIND your table FIRST! They keep menus on the tables so after we were seated we sent someone to pace the orders and then pick up the food. I have no complaints to the quality of the food, it was pretty average...I had the fish and chips (but really how different does the one basket of fried fish and fries taste from the next guy??!!) I give it a 4 for location, parking and atmosphere.
good food, good view.
Maui maui with avocado and onion rings are great! burgers and waffle fries were good too.
We're going back on our next trip to Galveston.
the great location is the ONLY convenience.... Yes the view is wonderful and because they allow dogs I have been back several times, but good luck finding a table, worth the hassle, in this self seating place. Each time has been more irritating than the last... Not only is there a lack of options on the menu that they make you wait in A hot, stuffy and OVERLYCROWDED line, that has never taken less then 25 minutes, just to get up to where I could put in an order(unless in the bar area where I have yet to have an even close to descent bartender) but After that part is over and I would actually find a table or have one cleaned off, they call your name to go BACK in through the crowded line of people waiting to place their orders to pick up your own plates and grab anything that is not just the basic food presented on the plate like condiments, silverware, napkins, drinks etc... Then with hands full try to squeeze through people to make it back to what is hopefully still your table(yes, thats been an issue before too)... When all has been said and done everytime I have left with the feeling of it wasn't worth the trouble, the beachview is supposed to be relaxing and this place is anything but..
good view...... Food was ok, but the view is what makes the place. Service was good and the place has some charm. We were really tired and trying to just enjoy ourselves and a table next to us struck up a conversation. It was more of an interrogation than a conversation. They seemed to know everyone in the whole place. Obviously we wondered into a locals place. They then invited us to the Elks lodge. We declined and the table on the other side of us started to insist that we go as well. It was kind of like being in an episode of the Twilight Zone. They ruined our meal. It was a strange experience.
Terrible Food!!! / Hot Beer!!! / Great View!!!. I probably would have had a better meal if I had eaten it out of the trash can outside.....yes, garbage probably would have been better. The beer wasn't even cold. But the view was nice and I guess that is what I was paying for. This is the kind of place that gives a town a bad name. Tourist Trap!
Great Food and View. The food was really good! I ordered the shrimp and fish plate. The salad was really yummy too. It was served in a taco salad bowl. The waiters were nice too. Awesome fries!
Worst ever!!!!. The only thing that this place has going for it is the view and the motorcycle parking! I was on the toilet for 4 days after eating there. I hadn't eaten all day and I ate their garbage and paid dearly for it!!!!
