The food is really fresh and tasty. clean place and friendly staff. I wish if they have better parking lot, sometime it is hard for me to park.
just not the same. we gave it a few more tries after noticing they were skimping on the fish tacos and changed the recipe for the brownies. no improvement--just keeps getting worse. the fish tacos consist of tiny remnants of fish scraped off of the grill--no substance whatsoever. i know they don't charge all that much but this is ridiculous! won't be returning....
NOTE: Dogs are NOT welcome at Mission Burrito. According to CitySearch, dogs are welcome on the patio of Mission Burrito, however I'm sad to say that is not true. My girlfriend and I went by last Sunday afternoon and when she inquired to confirm dogs are still allowed on the patio, a girl working behind the counter sneered at her and very condescendingly replied " Of course not, this is a restaurant and the FDA does not allow animals in a restaurant! You should know that!" My girlfriend replied "Not even in the patio area?" The lovely girl working at Mission Burrito replied "What did I just say? NO animals are allowed at the restaurant!" Naturally, we left after that and had lunch across the street at Ziggy's, where they not only welcomed us AND our dog, they even brought him water and biscuits. While I do love the food at Mission Burrito, I can do without the surly attitudes.
Sorry Chipotle!. After hearing my friends rant and rave about Mission Burrito, I finally went there for the first time today during my lunch break. All I can say is, wow! I apologize to all of the other burrito places in Houston, because I will probably never go back...sorry Chipotle! As a vegetarian, I am often limited in my burrito options. This was definitely not the case at MB. I had them stuff my wheat tortilla full of more items than I ever would've imagined could go in a burrito. Rice, beans, mushrooms, sauteed spinach, tomatoes, corn, salsa, cilantro ranch, cheese, guacamole...delicious! Top it off with a homemade brownie or giant chocolate chip cookie, and you will be one satisfied burrito-lover.
Friendly feel of a neighborhood hangout, great burritos. My friends and I are constantly looking for the best burrito (we fight about the pros and cons of Freebirds & Chipolte) but we both loved Mission Burritos! Extremely friendly and helpful staff, cheap but delicious burritos and the warm atmosphere put Mission Burritos on the top of my list.
best place to eat a brurriot at!.
this is the best place to grab a burrito and go or stay. either way, the place it great!
i recommend it to any and every one i know.
GOOD burrito!.
I can say that I thoroughly enjoy this place for burritoes! The staff is freidnly as they prepare your burrito, and you have a very wide variety of both classic and unique options to choose from. Multiple salsas... cabbage.. cilantro.. chopped tomatoes.. onions... pickled AND fresh jalapeno's. They are pretty generous with portions and have a salsa and chips bar for free.
Basically, if you want your burrito made just so, this is the place to go! For example I like having one of the classic salsas as well as a drizzle of the really hot stuff, plus some extra tomatoes and cilantro, plus diced fresh jalapenos...
happy happy tummy. Mission Burritos has been my favorite place for lunching for over 5 yrs. I first tried a BYOB (build your own burrito) at the Carrillion location which has since closed. It was love at first bite. I now drive an hour one way to have MB once a week, alternating between the Durham location and Alabama location. The staff is phenomenal, so happy and friendly. I have never gotten anything that wasn't just scrumptuous. Anything you order will be a pleasant surprise. The build your own burritos, burritos in a bowl, que mas salads with or without beef or chicken, tortilla soup, shrimp tacos, chicken tortas and THE BEST chips and queso in town! You really can't go wrong. It's a fast, fresh, friendly and delicious experience that will put a smile on your face. I highly recommend Mission Burritos to all.
this place is great. There is just no substitute for this great burrito haven. Any way you make it there a ton of food for the little money you pay. Not in the mood for a burrito try the grilled cheese (quesadillas), salads, soups, etc. Really need a burrito fix order a SUPER, its pretty much two burritos side by side as one, it's HUGE. The rice they use is excellent and the beans are vegetarian friendly. There are so many burrito fillers to choose from you'll have to keep going back until you've try them all. The queso is great too if you have room.
A Mexican food factory producing impressive belly busters made to your specifications, assembly-line style..
The Scene
The cinder-block interior is a little dim, even dank, but the tree-shaded deck outside is much more alluring. The real draw here is, as the menu trumpets, "fresh food fast." Fast, however, can be a relative term, especially during peak periods. But the atmosphere is so pleasantly laid-back, it's hard to get grumpy.
The Food
Burritos--massive piles of beans, rice, various meats and condiments wrapped in oversized tortillas--are the stellar attractions, but the flavorful fish tacos deserve attention, too. Five salsa choices range from an intentionally tepid tomato and cilantro mix to an incendiary habanero. Overlooked among all this heavy-duty chow is the refreshing Que Mas salad, with crunchy jicama, roasted corn and sweet red peppers perking up the greens.
