The Scene – The cinder-block interior is a little dim, even dank, but the tree-shaded deck outside is much more alluring. The real draw here is, as the menu trumpets, "fresh food fast." Fast, however, can be a relative term, especially during peak periods. But the atmosphere is so pleasantly laid-back, it's hard to get grumpy. – – The Food – Burritos--massive piles of beans, rice, various meats and condiments wrapped in oversized tortillas--are the stellar attractions, but the flavorful fish tacos deserve attention, too. Five salsa choices range from an…

we gave it a few more tries after noticing they were skimping on the fish tacos and changed the recipe for the brownies. no improvement--just keeps getting worse. the fish tacos consist of tiny remnants of fish scraped off of the grill--no substance whatsoever. i know they don't charge all that much but this is ridiculous! won't be returning....
- Cons: cutting corners
NOTE: Dogs are NOT welcome at Mission Burrito
by movieman006 at Citysearch
According to CitySearch, dogs are welcome on the patio of Mission Burrito, however I'm sad to say that is not true. My girlfriend and I went by last Sunday afternoon and when she inquired to confirm dogs are still allowed on the patio, a girl working behind the counter sneered at her and very condescendingly replied " Of course not, this is a restaurant and the FDA does not allow animals in a restaurant! You should know that!" My girlfriend replied "Not even in the patio area?" The lovely girl working at Mission Burrito replied "What did I just say? NO animals are allowed at the restaurant!" Naturally, we left after that and had lunch across the street at Ziggy's, where they not only welcomed us AND our dog, they even brought him water and biscuits. While I do love the food at Mission Burrito, I can do without the surly attitudes.
- Pros: Really great food
- Cons: Rude service
Sorry Chipotle!
by Ali09 at Citysearch
After hearing my friends rant and rave about Mission Burrito, I finally went there for the first time today during my lunch break. All I can say is, wow! I apologize to all of the other burrito places in Houston, because I will probably never go back...sorry Chipotle! As a vegetarian, I am often limited in my burrito options. This was definitely not the case at MB. I had them stuff my wheat tortilla full of more items than I ever would've imagined could go in a burrito. Rice, beans, mushrooms, sauteed spinach, tomatoes, corn, salsa, cilantro ranch, cheese, guacamole...delicious! Top it off with a homemade brownie or giant chocolate chip cookie, and you will be one satisfied burrito-lover.
- Pros: Variety of options
- Cons: None
