Plenty of cheap seats available. The food and beer is pricey, but the prices are going down this season for concessions, and tickets too!

  1. Parking is much better than was at the Dome and the downtown atmosphere is great.
  2. Yeah parking is expensive if you park across the street, but you can buy a MMP parking pass for $15 and that makes it sooo easy to get on 59 or 45.
  3. Wherever you sit you really have a good view of the field and don't feel like you are miles away from the game like at the Dome.
  4. Comfortable atmosphere, nice look to the park, and serves pretty good food for a ballpark.
  5. Have a great view as well as a great chance of catching a Home Run ball!
  6. This a great stadium with unbelievable atmosphere.
  7. Minute Maid Park is clean, close to the action, modern, and the parking could be a heck of a lot worse!
  8. great food, great drinks, great atmosphere.
  9. Weekend games are more fun.
  10. Great views of the skyline in right field, cheap upper deck seats, and good food.
  11. The view of downtown when the roof is open from, right field is awesome.
  12. And the parking is not nearly as bad as everyone once believe it would be.

The Gift of Baseball

by IronChefDavis , Citysearch Contributor

If your mom is like mine, she will love to go to the game as a Mother's Day present. She's always cheering for the Astros and getting all decked out even while watching the TV screen. Why not treat her with tickets to the ball park? With a quick stop at one of the restaurants around and maybe a beer in the park, it is just an amazing combination of sports and relaxing. Also, it is much better in person, when you feel the spirit and energy come over you. It is still early in the season and the Astros can only get better and better. This is a very practical gift for a very practical woman. I love my mom and I know that she will love it, especially if the Astros pull off a win. Afterward, we can round out the evening by visiting the Discovery Green and relax in the park while the traffic clears out of downtown.

  • Pros: Relaxing, Awesome Environment
  • Cons: Parking

Simply the Best in Baseball...

by spencer09

I've had the oppurtunity to explore 20 different MLB parks over the past few years, and clearly the "Juicebox" is the best. Parking is as easy as any stadium that I've been to. During the summer it's not unusual for it to feel like 110 or 115, so the roof is very necessary. It's pleasant during April, so it's nice to enjoy baseball outdoors in Houston. It doesn't take long to figure out that the seats are quite small, which is a compromise for the new intimate ballparks. What really makes it the best are the Astros fans. They're loud, but not obnoxious or drunk- for the most part. When the roof is closed, there is no louder stadium in baseball. A visiting fan can easily enjoy a game without any hassle. Love to see all of the unusual fan clubs around the stadium as well. I disagree with all who complained about the price. You've got to be smart and plan for trips to any stadium. I've been there 6 times and everytime spent a reasonable amount of money. Yeah parking is expensive if you park across the street, but you can buy a MMP parking pass for $15 and that makes it sooo easy to get on 59 or 45. Just stop complaining about price. Yes tickets to the dome were cheap, but the food was the same price and tasted bad, and you HAD to pay $20 to park and still had to walk a mile across Reliant Park to get into the dome. Don't even get me started on how long it took to get out of that God forsaken parking lot!!!

  • Pros: Parking, Atmosphere
  • Cons: Size of seats, Screen is not HD

Go 'Stros

The Park never fails to show us a good time whether we win or lose....great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. For those who compain about prices, please try going to any other major league sporting venue...you'll notice every place is a little over the top these days. Minute Maid Park is clean, close to the action, modern, and the parking could be a heck of a lot worse!!!! Quit complaining and treat yourself to a game.

Sweet!;)

by jballini

Minute Maid Park is sweet! Wherever you sit you really have a good view of the field and don't feel like you are miles away from the game like at the Dome. They have plenty of concession stands and gift shops. They usually have activities before and after the game that are interesting or involve the spectator. Also have "freebies" that are pretty cool for the first 10,000 to 15,000 fans etc. Ticket prices are very reasonable. The consessions offer pretty good food with a wide variety.Expensive though. If you sit too deep in right field you can't see the Nice BIG Scoreboard. I recommend sitting as close to the rail as you can wherever you sit. The Crawford Boxes are a plus! Have a great view as well as a great chance of catching a Home Run ball!

  • Pros: Parking, Atmosphere, The Roof!!!
  • Cons: No cup holders in most sections, Food&Beer Ex$pen$ive, Concourse a bit small
