GREAT! WONDERFUL! LOVING! FAMILY-LIKE DANCE STUDIO. I've been dancing at Jill's studio for 11 years(13 all together), and I would not go to any other dance studio than Mrs. Jill's. I love their technique and the strive to learn something new. My sister(jenny) and I have been side to side for all 11 years, and their staff has been nothing but kind and caring. I, myself, am an assistant student teacher up there, and love being able to help the young ones learn something new, and to see the smile on their face when they finally accomplish something is amazing. My regular classes are fun and upbeat. Heck, we even ran out into the snow in the middle of practice, dancing our butts off. Mrs Jill and the rest of the staff is amazing and most loving. Recital, even though Ike took a beating on that, will still be up and running at San Jac and our production will be just as great, if not better. Recital costumes are always fun and amazing. Once for the production of Alice in Wonderland, my class and I spun around in our dress for 10 minutes until having to dance in them dizzyingly. Jill Rauscher school of dance has been my second family and even though Mrs Jill has had a tough year, we all love her to death, along with the rest of the staff.

Where Dancing is Fun ......... My daughter has been dancing at Jill Rauscher's Studio for 6 years. I've sat in on many classes through the years and heard as the teachers called out each step as they went though the routines. We live in Clear Lake where elitism is the norm. While my daughter certainly feels the sting of the 'haves' looking down their noses at school and even in girl scouting, she has never felt this way at dance class.

The thing that sets Jill's studio apart from other studios is her and her core teaching group's longevity in our area. These ladies know their stuff and have years of teaching children experience that has only improved through trial and errors as well as achievements. Moms who danced at Jill's bring their kids back to dance at Jill's. Graduates come back to visit or write letters offering hope to our youngsters that one day they might achieve the same success in dance and life. Jill emphasis character and leadership and many of her older girls are their high school class leaders. These girls make very positive role models for my impressionable and young daughter. Seeing the success of the dancers that have come from Jill Rauscher , she has graduates dancing all over the world, gives me a feeling that my money is not being wasted on a studio that is not teaching my child what she will need should she pursue the dance career she hopes to. Most important, dancing is fun at Jill Rauscher's School of Dance! There are no unnecessary stresses about having particular dance attire. There are no harsh words or grading systems that make my child feel she is always competing with others in her class for a certain recognition. Jill's school motivates by making children love to dance and showing them that they can learn and succeed at dance while not losing but instead gaining self confidence. The building was renovated just recently , but it is has not changed what goes on inside the building where learning and love of dance is being taught to hundreds of happy dancers.

Save your child's self esteem - Go elsewhere. I grew up in this dance studio, mainly because we couldn't afford much more and I wanted to dance. Bluntly, it was awful. The instructors were harsh and clickish - catering to the "Popular" girls. I loved to dance but hated going to dance class ? I dreaded it every week. I was constantly ridiculed by several teachers (I went on to dance for 2 professional ballet companies as a Principal later on, so I must not have been THAT bad of a dancer). I always felt out of place and never good enough. They instilled a horrible lack of self-confidence. As I progressed in my dancing career, I struggled as none of the REAL dancing terms were used at this studio (what?s the point?). I basically had to learn all over again as an adult. I remember being made fun of by friends at other dance studios for our hideous so-called thrown-together recital costumes (hey Jill, ever heard of a tutu?). The teachers are very under trained in dance as well as teaching principles. We won't even discuss the fact it's in the same place since when I was little and the place is a complete run down dump! Now as a physician and mother of 2, you could not PAY ME enough to send my children to this wretched place! My children's self confidence is worth the extra price elsewhere.
