Used to love it... until the roach visited our table..... We used to frequent Mamacitas on NASA Rd. 1 for breakfast every Sunday, and they have THE MOST awesome Migas and refried beans anywhere...

BUT - we went just this past Sunday and a cockroach crawled across one of the chairs at our table.

We decided to just pay and leave, as we were mostly finished, and as we were leaving, decided to mention it to the woman who appeared to be the manager on duty.

I explained that we love coming here, but there was a roach at our table and her response was "We have a guy that comes every week to take care of that, I will tell the general manager". I mentioned that she may want to send someone to kill it and/or remove the chair before others see it, but she just handed us two "free" queso coupons.... LOVELY... I am afraid we won't be back. If there was one roach far from the kitchen, how many were IN the kitchen.

Terrible Tacos. Went to Mamacitas for lunch today. Hubby ordered 3 crispy tacos. He said they were greasy and had a peculiar taste so he only ate 1. When the waiter came to clear the table he asked if hubby wanted a To Go Box. He explained what was wrong with the tacos and politely declined the box. The waiter offered to have them re-made saying another guest had complained about them also. Hubby declined because (a) everyone at our table of 11 was already finished eating and (b) he felt they might come out the same.

Then the bill was presented and we were charged $9.75 for 3 a la carte tacos. We felt this was high, especially for food he couldn't eat, so when the waiter came back to pick up the payment we questioned the price. The waiter explained this was the a la carte price and had even looked into charging him for the meal thinking it would be less (but according to him said it wasn't) but he did offer to talk to the manager about it. In the meantime I got my hands on a menu and saw that the meal price was $8.75.

When the waiter came back the manager had only reduced our cost to the $8.75 for the meal. We felt this was outrageous considering we had already told him the food was inedible.

We have been eating there for many years and, like another reviewer, have seen a decline so this will be our last trip there.

Best Mexican Food. I love the Cozumel combination plate here, served with a cheese enchilada, taco al carbon, cheese tostada, beens, rice and guacamole. The shrimp enchiladas are also delicious. Service is prompt, prices are reasononable, and they serve homemade tortillas with your order. This is one of the best mexican restaurants in the Houston and Clear Lake area.

Once A Favorite. This used to be our favorite place to eat. We were Friday night regulars. In the past few years, service has really gone down hill. We miss the friendly and fun staff. There seems to be too much emphasis on making a quick dollar and turning tables. As for coupons, they've always been difficult with accepting them, even the ones they advertise in the church bulletin. We also don't like the fact that they only reserve the porch seating for large groups, that was always our favorite place to sit with our kids.

A great find!!. We decided to give this place a try after recent decline in service at our regular Mexican spot, and wow we are so glad we did. The food is excellent and the service is consistent and attentive! Now we have to stop going several times in ONE WEEK! Quality food and great service here!! Nice authentic Mexican atmosphere and decor!

Extremely good service, best vegetarian mexican food I've had. Very good margaritas and quick seating. When we arrived, the parking lot was completely full but upon entering we (2 of us) were seated at a booth within 5-10 minutes. The green sauce is very good and the wait staff is friendly. My favorite is their spinach-anything: spinach burrito, spinach enchilada, spinach quesadillas. They have a more impressive vegetarian menu than most mexican food places.

Great food. This is absolutely my favorite restaurant if i could i would be eating there 3-4 times a week like i used to if its not for the food then its for there blue hawaiian margarita and chips and salsa. i love mexican food but when it comes to eatin out and fajitas this is the only restaurant i will go to most other restaurants fajitas are tough or has to much fator the taste is bland or just dont know how to season it.

waitstaff on the other hand is not that great there are maybe 2 females and i have only been waited on by one of them and she was the best server i have had there i personally think they need to hire more females waitstaff

Great for my Alumni Event. Mamacita's on NASA Road was great for my alumni function in March 2006. We had a group of about 35 in the restaurant's upper room.

Two things to be aware of if you're planning a program for your group event: Roaming mariachi band, and don't arrive TOO early. I was there 90 minutes early, standard for our events, but the room wasn't ready for me until about 45 minutes prior to the event. And the live music added a challenge for communicating the message to our folks.

Beyond that, though, Mamacita's has great food, a great atmosphere and my alumni loved the margaritas!
