Tips for Conn's

Good Service. I have done business with Conn's several times in recent years. My deliveries were always on time or early. Did have some problems with items purchased, but feel this was due to manufacturer defect. Purchase a window AC/Heater after 6 months it wasn't working. Called manufacturer for repair and wasn't able to get the problem fixed after several weeks. Conn's sent out their own repair technician who fixed the problem within 3 days of the phone call. Customer service has always been great to deal with and bill paying process is simple. Great buying experience.

This store is the worst buying experience for us in years, avoid IT!. When our house was affected by Hurricane Ike we had to replace several appliances, following a newspaper add, on 01/25/09 we went to this Conn's store (The name of the manager is Sayed something...) and paid for a washer and dryer. When we asked a delivery delay for 02/08/09 we were told there was no problem. However, that day they tried to deliver floor samples instead of new units because THEY HAD SOLD OUT OURS. When we called the store for an explanation and a solution, were offered to add the pedestals at a substantial discount, we accepted the deal as a lesser evil and setup the delivery for their next available date (two days later). They did not show up, "unbelievably" AGAIN THEY HAD SOLD THE MERCHANDISE WE HAD PAID FOR. We drove 30 miles to the store to find an alternative deal, however they did not offer anything satisfactory except for looking in other stores for any of these machines still available. In the end we run out of patience and called them several days later to ask for a refund, they promised to process our request for the next day. When we called the next morning THEY HAD DONE NOTHING, but they promised to do it right away. However by the afternoon they STILL HAD DONE NOTHING. Again we drove 30 miles exclusively to make sure the manager processed our refund, he did it, but was very rude. At no point they offer any recognition that it was wrong to sell what was already ours, not counting the distress and waste of time and car gas/mileage. At other retailers have told us about this episode: "that would never be our policy, that's absolutely unprofessional". Based on our arguments with the manager at Conn's this disrespectful abusive behavior seems to be regular store policy. We still have to buy several major appliances, household items and furniture, in all several thousand dollars. We have the funds thanks to the helpful response from our insurance company, but we don't want to have any business ever again with this store or any in the chain.
