What happened here?. I went to this mall about a year ago because NewYork and Company had a store here. It was my first trip to the mall and I couldnt figure out what was up!!

The mall appeared like it was new..yet it was totally run down. A sign of terrible management!!! At the time I think it only had two major stores (Macys and something else. JCPenny maybe??).

Inside of NY&C the ceiling was leaking onto the clothes and it seemed that no one cared or even noticed.

Usually something like a leaky roof is mall managements job to fix and apprently they never fixed it because NY&C is no longer in this mall.

Really, I dont think there is any excuse for this mall to to be in this condition other than the fact that it is under POOR management. With the growth of League City and Dickenson this could be a great alternative to Baybrook but it just seems this mall keeps heading south!

One can only hope that new management will take over and give us more alternatives for shopping other the the overcroweded Baybrook mall.

A test of how long a mall can stay open without a single customer. This mall is somewhat of an anomaly. The facility is brand new and, inexplicably, is nearly empty. It's out of view of Interstate 45, which is a major problem for them obviously. It's located across the freeway from an Outlet mall that gets a lot more business. There aren't many stores in the mall other than the theatre or Macy's. It's as if this is an old mall with a new mall that opened down the street, leaving this one hanging out to dry. However, it's not really like that. This mall was opened after the nearby Baybrook Mall and was actually built to replace the Galvez mall in Galveston that closed. it apparently has failed to attract any business.

The facilities are clean and well-constructed. There are virtually no people in the mall at any given time other than employees, so parking and shopping are a breeze. Most of the stores are independently owned (not chain stores) and quite a few are "Cash Only" outfits with prominent, condescending signs posted on the doors indicating their policy. The food court is halfway decent but could use a Chick-Fil-A. There are plenty of places to sit and it's very quiet.

There are closed stores all over the place. I'd say the occupancy is at 20% or less. You have to walk down long corridors of walls to get to Macy's (former Foley's). Thankfully, most of the stores are close to the Food Court. The Macy's is the busiest store in the mall. The Sears is dead, the Palais Royal is dead, and the JC Penney is closed down, but you can still see where the signs were. It's really odd having a massive anchor store closed at a brand new mall.

The selection in the stores is clearly geared toward the local crowd. Lots of bargains and not a lot of quality material. If not for that, this would be a great "best kept secret" place to shop for Christmas, but there's literally nothing worth buying here. Take the drive to Baybrook Mall just a few miles north. It's older, 100% full, and has tons of good stores to shop
