“fun, good food, great view”
“Beautiful setting for dinner and drinks outside.”
“We especially like that this restaurant is off the path and has a clientele of like minded patrons who are there for good food, good service, and the serenity and peace that comes with the surroundings.”
“Excellent menu, service and quality food, still with a waterfront view.”
“We have visited several times in the past year and have found both the service and the food to be highly acceptable and enjoyable.”
“Terrible food and service, sometimes takes two hours for un acceptable food (did I mention it';s way over priced) unbelievable chaos in the restaurant, lead by the owner who is always yelling at his servers and bartenders in front of the entire diningroom”
Amazing location, beautifully prepared food!. I have had the pleasure of eating at the Sundance Grill II on numerous different occasions, and every time seems better than the previous. The food is great. My suggestions would be either the Pepper Steak (absolutely amazing), Chicken Marsala, or the Salmon Florentine. All of the dishes are beautifully prepared. Hans, the owner, is a chef himself. On one occasion my wife ordered her steak to be cooked well-done and it came out rare. Rather than just throwing it back on the grill, Hans had the chef cook her a completely new steak. I have been at Sundance a few times when the management has comped the bills for Firefighters, Police Officers, and the Military. Overall, I think this is a great establishment. In the summer time, you can relax by the pool, enjoy a mimosa, and be served on your lawn chair! They also have live bands!
Worst place ever!. Worst food ever! Bad service, bad food, and bad management. Cold food and burnt steak!. Will never go back! The owner (Hanz) actually saw my burnt and cold food get sent out by the kitchen and actually instructed my waitress to serve it anyway. Total chaos and unorganized!
Sundance Grill isn't open anymore!. Since Hurricane Ike, they've closed down permanently. The building has been converted to a private area for the local marina residents.
Good Food, Great Sunsets.
Beautiful setting for dinner and drinks outside. Enjoy watching the activity on Clear Lake while dining.
Service is great with a friendly wait staff. They're busy so don't dally in choosing an entree. Just get anything with lump crab meat. Scrumtious!
An experience we repeat as often as possible. I could not disagree more with the last review. We have visited several times in the past year and have found both the service and the food to be highly acceptable and enjoyable. The views from the deck of the passing boats and the sunset only compliment the food and service. We especially like that this restaurant is off the path and has a clientele of like minded patrons who are there for good food, good service, and the serenity and peace that comes with the surroundings. Our special requests were honored without question. Ask about the off menu items! Please give them a try and decide for yourself - you will not be disappointed.
Total Chaos. If not for the panoramic view of Clear Lake, this place would have closed long ago. Terrible food and service, sometimes takes two hours for un acceptable food (did I mention it';s way over priced) unbelievable chaos in the restaurant, lead by the owner who is always yelling at his servers and bartenders in front of the entire diningroom, it's quite a show, it should be a realality TV show. Someone needs to tell this guy he is a real #!*% The place to go is Sundance @ Waterford Harbor in League City. Excellent menu, service and quality food, still with a waterfront view. I have been to the Seabrook Sundance dozens of times and it just gets worse each time, I'm never coming back to that location.
Spectacular Brunch!. Try the Brunch outside on the deck. For about $20 you get an app, entree, desert, and all the champagne & mimosas you can drink. My daughter loved watching the boats drive by.
Sit and watch the boats go by at this slightly more exclusive alternative to the Kemah Boardwalk..
The Scene
It may feature the same waterway as its across-the-channel neighbors, but the Sundance Grill has an entirely different atmosphere. More boat-owners than boat-watchers frequent the restaurant, which is hidden behind the Seabrook Ship Yard. Inside, a handful of tables share space with a bar full of regulars, but it's the spacious outside deck that's the main attraction. Experienced wait staff adjust umbrellas for prime sunset watching as diners sip cocktails and enjoy the relaxed pace.
The Food
The menu emphasizes grilled seafood with a tropical flair. Start with Hanzee's crab cakes (a favorite of owner Hans Mair) with poached salmon and lumps of crabmeat. The Philippine snapper is grilled and flavored with cilantro, ginger and soy, accompanied by a zesty cucumber and cashew salsa. For something other than seafood, the Sundance burger is a juicy, six-ounce patty on a still-warm bun served with lettuce tomato and onion. The menu also features sandwiches, steaks and chicken.
