Carlos is great!. Ask for Carlos if you want hi lites, he does a great job and is very precise with his work. He always makes sure it looks perfect before you leave and will consult with you first to be sure you guys are on the same page so no surprises! I have long hair and when I say I only want a trim he does just that, you know how some people will chop off way too much, he has never done that to me!

He does a great job with layers too, blends well and adds volume to my fine long hair. I have my hair colored and hi lites, low lites all kinds of changes and he has never once left me unhappy and I am pretty picky. I have been through many hair dressers and he is one I will stick with. He also comes in after work hours during the week which is nice for some people who can't come on the weekend.

My Happy Place. Shear Design is my happy place, where I go not only to have my hair cut, but to renew my spirit. Emma is delightful, knows how to listen to what her clients like and tries to make sure that they leave happy with the results. Of course it makes everything much easier if the client can communicate his or her wishes to the person that is holding the "shears", but I have always been very happy with my results. Emma is qualified in reike, and other wonderful relaxation techniques and the salon has a wonderful, calming effect on me as soon as I walk in. I believe that the person who styles yout hair can be your friend also, and that communication is really important in any beauty salon - but anything is possible in Emma's salon - Shear Design is a sheer delight!!

Good Emma Bad Emma. I began going to Shear Design based on the good reviews found on Citysearch for Emma, the shop owner. The 1st time I went in I was so pleased with the way she styled my hair & received a lot of compliments. The next cut was longer on one side so I went back with in the week & Emma obligingly fixed it. The next time I went Emma cut my hair way too short and apologized. The last time I went I left with the back of my head practically shaved! The hair was so short it felt bristly like whiskers. Not at all like the feminine cut I had 1st received. I also noticed that Emma would bounce back & forth between friendly & aggressive during each visit. I don't need to pay $45-$50 for abuse & an unsatisfactory haircut. I will Not be going back. If you do go there ask for Sue. She is friendly, professional & more stable.

does any else do good hair other than emma. i was recommended by quite a few people to go to shear design but my experience there was horrible...i had a fresh out of school hair dresser. not only did she not know what was going on she did not make me feel welcomed. she wasnt friendly and she barely talked to me. i dont care how much schooling someone has they dont teach you how to be a people person and deal with the public. i wont go there again..
