The Scene
You could say local restaurant czar Tilman Fertitta built this place just for the halibut--and about a hundred other species of fish displayed in the 90,000 gallons' worth of observation tanks at this spectacular "eatertainment" operation. Climbing a dramatic staircase that encircles a three-story, cylindrical fish tank, patrons find themselves in a dining room where four other aquaria provide a dazzling, nonstop parade of exotic sea creatures. Moody blue lighting reflects eerily off coral-like walls, completing the undersea effect.
The Food
Naturally, the menu is seafood-heavy and most of the offerings are satisfactory, but hardly special. Those uncomfortable about plowing into a plate of seafood while your meal's cousins swim nearby can order a serviceable rib eye or chicken dishes. Enjoying a simple appetizer and a few drinks at the bar while admiring the spectacle is always an option, too.

My family and I went there last night to celebrate my birthday and was completely disappointed! I give it one star for the ambience, my children loved the huge aquariums around the restaurant, and the hostess seated us right away. The waiter, now that's a different story! This waiter by far is the worst waiter I've ever dealt with at a Landry's Inc. and we eat at Landry's Restaurants quite a lot, be it the Landry's or Joe's, Saltgrass, the restaurant at the San Luis Hotel in Galveston, well you get my drift..anyway, back to that horrible waiter I believe the name was Terren(?) lack customer service skills, no personality whatsoever. He never smiled, didn't seem to happy that he was going to wait on us, my first question to him was if they had any flavored teas..he said "Yeah" and went on the flavors ( I could never ever remember the flavored bottled teas that Landry's offer) Anyway, he said that they have Peach, Raspberry in bottles so I said I will take Peach. Well my drink came and it turns out it was Ginger Peach decaf tea! He should've told me that it was decaf tea and had Ginger flavor to it! Well, I didn't confront him because my husband said he will drink it instead. We were not offered any bread and butter, this waiter only checked on us once if we were okay and it wasn't even busy that night! He tried to give my mother the wrong order but did not apologize, he never offered for desserts, never asked if we needed refill and lastly, never thanked us for eating there and to come back again. Now for a $160 dinner meal, I expected the usual Landry's great customer service but I didn't get it this time. I did talk to the GM named Jonathan and he was very pleasant and apologetic and stated he will correct the problem for me.

You can't go wrong here, we have never been served anything that was not delicious. We love to dine on the patio, this place is all about atmosphere. Bring the kids and grandkid's to see the huge fish swim in the aquarium, then eat the child's plate on the patio and watch the boats go out to the bay. Enjoy the food and atmosphere while there.

We were seated right away. The staff was real friendly to my son. It's a nice restaurant that the whole family can enjoy. The oysters just melted in your mouth they were so good. The fish was cooked to perfection. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. It's well worth it. If you are thinking of trying this restaurant out I highly recommend it.
