enjoyable hangout. interesting mix of locals and visitors..great food..great service..too bad only apps available at bar....very nice property and setting...liked it a bunch

The Best!!!. The best steak i have ever eaten!!! The wait staff was attentive, pleasant, helpful, and friendly. Side items are a la carte, but they are HUGE, and per our helpful waiter's suggestion, my wife and i opted to split a salad, and an order of mashed potatoes. We each received a delicious plateful of salad and enough mashed potatoes to last three meals (and i can put away some mashed potatoes!!!). The steak was tender and perfectly prepared. I can't wait to go back!!! After all, The Steakhouse is the number 2 rated steakhouse in Texas, per Texas Monthly (Biernat [in Dallas] is #1).

This San Luis Hotel dinner restaurant shows why Galveston isn't just for seafood anymore.. In Short
Sure, there's fish on the menu, but USDA prime grain-fed beef is the real catch of the day at The Steakhouse, located at the San Luis Hotel on the Galveston seawall. Appetizers include shrimp cocktail, crab cakes and escargot. Main course favorites include a huge New York strip, prime rib, porterhouse or filet mignon. Veal, chicken and live lobster are also available. Mahogany walls and leather chairs give the dining room a decidedly upscale feeling.
