Wonderful lunch-worth the drive.. I pulled a Rachel Ray.....drove down from Houston for some seafood, stopped at a local bank and asked the tellers for their fav seafood restaurant. They said Landry's. I arrived on April 4 at 11:30am, and was seated immediately. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgable of the menu and after asking me a few questions about my preferences, recommended several different items. I chose the Mahi-Mahi and was in heaven. The serving was the size of a ribeye steak. The fish was tender, moist and flaky. The rice and veggies were cooked to perfection. I was in heaven.
Crab Attack. On this day, the wait was only 20 to 30 minutes for either indoor or outdoor, deck dining. But, we were required to travel to different site to post your name on the specific list. Before our table was ready, we did enjoy the bar setting and drinks. Once seated, we asked waitress for Today’s' Special and our waitress did not recall the items. And so, we elected to try the Crab special which boasted it would give a various types of crab dishes. However, the Snow crab did not measure up to expectations more specifically, it looked and textured to over cooked or freezer burned. The wait staff did make an effort to appease us which resulted in reducing the price of that meal.
Wow! What an incredible dining experience!. From the moment we walked in the door (party of 7), we were warmly greeted, welcomed and ushered to our table. The server promptly came to our table and took our drink order and it was very clear he was going to be attentive to our table. Never did we have an empty glass or did we ask for refills: the wait staff was very attentive. Our meal was served exactly the way we ordered: no mistakes. Afterwards, the general manager came by our table to thank us for dining with them and spoke with us for approximately three-four minutes: very personable and sincere. Finally, the chief executive chef visited our table to make sure the food was prepared the way we liked it and to thank us for dining at Landry's. The meal was nothing short of excellent and I would highly recommend this Landry's location to anyone who likes exceptional seafood and is willing to pay a bit more for a great dining experience.
