I always come to this hotel every summer, (Let's also mention that I have come almost fourteen times) and I have always had a great time. For those of you who may have gone before Hurricane Ike struck the Galveston area, they have changed some things. I cannot speak for the rooms on floors two, three and four, but the rooms on the first floor were re carpeted, and from the rooms that I have stayed in, the sheets are brand new.

I understand that some people don't like this hotel, but I think that for a few days, as I did when I was on the way to Corpus Christi for a camping trip, that that is really what the hotel is for.

I quite like it, and would totally recommend going here.

If your booking for the summer, book early in May, or book for late in August.

it was fun, the wife&kids loved the pool clean and clear water,staff very helpful especially the nice guy in the lobby took all are stuff to are room on the 4th floor.Room was very clean,perfect beach view from the 4th floor room where we were.will come back..when we checked out the nice guy took are stuff down to..we forgot an ipad in the room and got it back the next day thanks Commodore p.s.WILL BE BACK

The Commodore was a great hotel!! The view from our room was beautiful and unbeatable. The room and the bathroom were both very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

My husband and I just stayed at the commodore for three nights. The view was absolutely perfect! The staff was very accommodating and friendly! The price was right! Rooms were perfect! Great location! We loved it so much we are going back in three weeks:)

We have stayed at the commodore 3 separate times. The kids love it. The staff are friendly. The pool is awesome and they have free drinks and snacks throughout the day to tide the munchkins over. It is also right on the seawall and every room has a beach view.
