In Short – This historic inn, built in 1839, has 119 rooms and suites featuring black-and-white color schemes, French doors, hardwood floors and furnishings reminiscent of the Victorian era. Located on the Strand, there is a four-story atrium lobby, a stylish lobby bar and meeting and event facilities. Guests gather on the rooftop terrace to catch the sunset or sip a drink. They can also use the pool at the Hotel Galvez.

Love Galveston and this hotel!

I loved this hotel! Galveston is one of my favorite getaway spots, and the Tremont House is so romantic. I would definitely come back to this hotel- the lobby alone is gorgeous. My room was clean, with an adorable bed that you would never find in a standard hotel. The Strand District has some great shopping so make sure and stop by there; it?s very close to the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway.

Simply beautiful hotel!

I just got back from a stay at this beautiful hotel, and could not recommend it highly enough. The whole place is elegant and charming; yet comfortable with great amenities like wireless internet and towel warmers. It is in a good location in historic Galveston and is right in the middle of the whole Strand area. I did the afternoon tea in the atrium lobby, and it just added to the ambiance.

Beautiful Historic Hotel

The only drawback we could see was that "Historic" tends to mean "small" as far as room sizes go. But, once you get passed that minor bit the Tremont is a wounderful place to visit, It takes on the old world charm of the Island's history.
The service is exceptional with quality food and drink at the hotel resturaunt and bar. Don't miss having a cocktail at the rooftop lounge.
