What People Are Saying About Fish Tales

In Short – This bustling two-story eatery offers diners an excellent view of Surfer's Alley. The expansive upstairs deck is a prime attraction, but tables in the clubby interior aren't bad. A small lounge area next to an upstairs fireplace lends a touch of class to what, at first, seems like another high-volume tourist operation. A crab platter, with lump meat, au gratin and stuffed items, should warm crab lovers' hearts. Steak, pasta and sandwiches provide alternatives for those with more landlocked tastes.
Bad service

Tonight (8/31/08) we went to Fish Tales with the other 2 families for totally 9 people around 9pm. The waitress only gave us two straws and said the restaurant run out of straw. Then we asked for bread because kids were tired and hungry after waiting for 30 min on the table. But she said the restaurant changed the policy plus there was no bread available; however, we did see other tables did serve some bread. The food taste ok, but the price is over its value. We all very disappointed the service there and will never come back to this Fish Tales again.
Avoid at all costs

My very first review! Must have been bad for me to right this. The restaurant had an odor of arm pits as soon as we walked up the stairs to the 2nd floor. The chairs were dirty. I ordered stuffed flounder and the fish was not flaky as if it was frozen and the stuffing was minimal, tasteless, and watery. My face is turning up just thinking about it. Complete waste of money.
- Pros: On the seawall
- Cons: Food, Lack of Cleanliness
Sad experience.....

My husband and I wanted to treat our 9 year old son to a good sea food restaurant in our visit to Galveston last month. After summing for a few hours we ask about a good restaurant and some local suggested Fish Tales. We went there all excited and waited to be seated, the hostess told us our waiter would be with us shortly but never showed up. We decided to wait for 10 minutes and no one even greeted us. We just saw people walking in front of us but never came by. We waited almost for 20 minutes until I got really upset and left when no one even noticed we were there. We all were disappointed and my son was sad we had this experience.
