This place is aweful. Aweful aweful, we avoided Joes since they remodeled because it has always been terrible service but we didnt imagine things could have gotten worse. The food is over priced, the music is so loud you can't even talk to the person sitting next to you. The server forgot everything he would disapear into the kitchen for a ridiculously long time and come out empty handed whenever we needed anything. That is if we could even find him or get his attention away from the constant dancing. One song was over five minutes later their dancing again meanwhile my food is getting cold because they dropped off the food with no condiments noone asking if we needed anything to go dance. One of the male servers had his pants so low half of his underwear was hanging out the whole time, another female whose was wearing skin tight booty shorts. This is supposed to be a family place. We were constantly trying to get someones attention and not one manager ever came over. Terrible restaurant terrible management we are Galveston resident and we will NEVER go to this place again!!!
Terrible Service.
We went here today and the service was awful! They completely screwed up our order so we spent an extra 30 minutes waiting for half the food the table ordered. The manager only wanted to give us a free appetizer to say sorry but she had us use our receipt from the order to call and do a survey to get the free appetizer! So after sitting on the phone in the restaurant for an extra 10 minutes doing a phone survey they took a whole whopping $8 off of a $77 ticket!
The worst part is we rented one of those bikes on the beach that run $20 an hour. We had to rent it for an extra hour because of all the delay at the restaurant. I will not be eating here again.
A colorful seafood restaurant for kids of all ages--especially the younger ones..
In Short
Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.
Boring, Boring, Boring... They Have a Joe's Where You Live Already.... ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz.
This is what you call vacation?
Have you eaten at the Joe's in the city where you live? It's just as boring here as it is there. This is yet another Landry's Chain cookie cutter, carbon copy, manufactured over and over again, again, again, again.... Dine here or in Katy at the mall.
Why on earth would you travel anywhere to eat at a chain restaurant? Do you think maybe it defeats the purpose of paying $4.00 a gallon gas to go somewhere? By all means, go to the Landry's and Red Lobsters of the world IF your couch is your favorite place on earth.
Or, if you choose to not live while you're dead..... Get Out There!! The world is a great place to get out an experience!!
overrated. I had always wanted to go to a Joe's Crab Shack and now I'm wondering why. The food is very pedestrian and not worth the price. My family and I were completely disappointed, although my daughter said the fried shrimp was "OK." Why bother when Gaido's is just down the street? The crab cake was OK as well, not great, and the blackened Mahi was....well, OK.
Last tourist resort. Our recent Saturday morning experience was very disappointing. We didn't expect much food-wise, but I think 'slap-dash' is a good word to describe our experience. Staff were forced to wear costumes that day, and it took a while for them to get ready, 'warm up' and get with it. We didn't feel the restaurant was ready to open. Based on this admittedly only one experience, the Houston locations are better IMHO, which doesn't say much for this tourist trap.
Joes'... you have to try it!. We moved to Galveston from the NorthWest, where Seafood is very expensive when you are out to dinner. Joe's was a relief. The staff is very friendly and fun, especially when they do their dances. All three of our children beg to go to Joe's. Texas sized shrimp comes in all kinds of flavors. Go to Galveston and try a skewer of grilled shrimp with a cold Texas sized beer and be amazed at the beauty of the blue gulf waters!
It's a very good place to eat!!!!!!!. This place has a good atmosphere. I have recomended it to many of my friends and family who loved it. The food, while being slightly expensive, is very good. The wait staff is very nice and attentive to your needs.
Don't waste your time. AWFUL.. How this restaurant chain stays in business is beyond me. The food is bland and overpriced. The atmosphere is loud and garish. The waitstaff is inattentive and have to be flagged down for the smalles of requests, such as refilling glasses, etc. If you want good seafood at reasonable prices and a pleasant meal, there are PLENTY of other seafood restaurants to choose from! Ignore that flashing sign and keep driving!
Wanna, have fun !!!!. This is a place, that makes ANYTRIP memoriable. The Food, the people, the atomosphere....all great !!!
