Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.

This is what you call vacation? Have you eaten at the Joe's in the city where you live? It's just as boring here as it is there. This is yet another Landry's Chain cookie cutter, carbon copy, manufactured over and over again, again, again, again.... Dine here or in Katy at the mall. Why on earth would you travel anywhere to eat at a chain restaurant? Do you think maybe it defeats the purpose of paying $4.00 a gallon gas to go somewhere? By all means, go to the Landry's and Red Lobsters of the world IF your couch is your favorite place on earth. Or, if you choose to not live while you're dead..... Get Out There!! The world is a great place to get out an experience!!

I had always wanted to go to a Joe's Crab Shack and now I'm wondering why. The food is very pedestrian and not worth the price. My family and I were completely disappointed, although my daughter said the fried shrimp was "OK." Why bother when Gaido's is just down the street? The crab cake was OK as well, not great, and the blackened Mahi was....well, OK.

Our recent Saturday morning experience was very disappointing. We didn't expect much food-wise, but I think 'slap-dash' is a good word to describe our experience. Staff were forced to wear costumes that day, and it took a while for them to get ready, 'warm up' and get with it. We didn't feel the restaurant was ready to open. Based on this admittedly only one experience, the Houston locations are better IMHO, which doesn't say much for this tourist trap.
