Best little Mexican spot in Houston.... I absolutely love this place. Its small, quiet and family run. The food is original as if you eating at family's. Price is affordable. Service is fast and the food is hot. I have been going for years. I always order combo #1. which is queso on top of 2 beef burritos, rice and beans... Mmm, I love it.. This is a diamond in the ruff for orginal mexican food.
Li'l Neighborhood Joint.
El Potosino has been here for years; I'm surprised my review is the first! This is a pretty good little family-owned place; the food is more authentic than regular TexMex but it's way better quality than you'd find in a greasy taqueria. I forgot the name of the combo dinner I always get, but it has 2 cheese enchiladas and a cold plate with a taco, guacamole, and a queso tostada (I think it might be the Maria Special?) I always ask for onions on the enchiladas, and they don't mess around!
The service is great, but the seating is not very comfortable - in fact they need some new booths. The springs are shot in most of them and many of the seat covers are torn. I guess they don't want people chillin' very long. I usually prefer to get take-out for this reason.
