Best Salon & Best People Ever!. I have been going to Altered Images for years now after my sister raved about it...I now rave about it. Mandy is awesome. She has been in control of my unruly hair for years and I couldnt ask for anything more. She knows what shes doing..the staff is amazing. I actually get excited when they call to confirm my appointments because i just love going. I recently moved to west houston a few months ago and my boyfriend asked me, "where are you going to get your hair done now" and i about fell over..i said what do you mean?? I will drive 35 miles to continue going to Altered Images & getting my "mandy magic"...i will fly across country! Fabulous place, fabulous people, simply the best salon ever!!

Talented Stylists, Terrible Management. I know several of the stylists who work at Altered Images and have seen the work they have done. They are a very talented and sweet group that is completely spoiled by unqualified and unprofessional management that refuses to change.

Part of being a good manager is knowing how to play to the strengths of your employees. While a cosmetology license may indicate that you can do nails at some basic level, you don't force inexperienced stylists to do nails when you're billing yourself as a high end salon. The client won't be happy because they will not have received that high end service they paid for and your employee won't be happy because a high pressure situation isn't conducive to learning.

But therein lies the problem. The owner is a hair stylist not playing to her own strength and trying to manage. The education and interpersonal skills just aren't there to run an efficient business while fostering healthy relationships with her employees.

Tina is Great!. I had TINA cut and color my hair and she did a WONDERFUL job. It was obvious that she loves cutting and coloring hair. I could feel her enthusiasm for her job. She thoroughly went over different colors for my hair. When I was done I felt like a new woman. She exceeded my expectations. Altered Images is a top notch salon and spa. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Keep up the good work!

Friendswood's Best Salon. I have been a customer of Altered Images since 1986 when the salon opened for business. I have always received wonderful services there. Whether it was my hair, nails or spa service. They have always been very professional each and every time as well as above and beyond the call of duty. I will continue to be loyal to Altered Images! The owner has always gone out of her way to make me & every other person feel more than welcome there! Keep up the good work!!

Susan was a very nice person. To whom it may concern...Susan was a very sweet person whom was hired and trained by a great educator. When an employee is hired they are hired with a cosmetology degree which is the study of hair, skin and nails. The employee is responsible to fill there obligation to help in all fields. If you have ever been an employer you would know that not all employees committ 100% all the time. In our industry it takes several years to build and retain clients. Susan struggled to retain clients( as we all do when building) she could not continue and left the company on her own. We do not give out information on any employees unless we are given permission from them....

WHERE DID SUSAN GO????????. I came to this salon 5 years ago and had a horrible experience!! Though last year i decided to give it another chance because it was right next to my house, much to my surprise i met a young talented new stylist named Susan!!! I have never had a stylist like her she was truly amazing!!! When the salon called me this week they refused to give me Susan's last name, and tried to push me off on the owners daughter (whom I have heard horrible things about)!!! I dont blame Susan for leaving, anytime the owner was in for the day everybody seemed to be tense!Once she offered Susan to give me a pedicure while i was processing, so I asked Susan if she did pedicures?? Which she then informed me that kelly told her she could look for a new job if she was not going to do pedicures!! I refuse to go back to that salon but i want to find Susan, so if anyone knows her last name Please post it so I can find her!!!

Worst Salon Experience. I visited Altered Images Salon & Spa on Saturday, August 14, 2010. My stylist wasTina and she put a perm on my hair. I felt my hair after she finished styling and it was NOT straight. She applied an old product that burned my entire scalp. I immediately brought it to her attention. The next day I combed through my hair and combed out chunks of hair. I now have bald patches all over my scalp. On Thursday, September 16, 2010 I stopped by and showed the owner KELLY IDOUX what her stylist TINA did to my hair. I asked her for privacy to discuss the problem. She was very rude and nasty. She stated "well you have been here several times and why did you come back". I could not believe her response. I told her that the stylist did not know how to use the product and needed more training. She never said I'm sorry. but she offered me a hair treatment. I declined the offer and left immediately. I was never rude or raised my voice. Please BEWARE of this salon. I would NEVER recommend Altered Images Salon & Day Spa. in Friendswood. I would HIGHLY recommend LAVISH.

The Best Salon and Spa Experience!. I have been going to see Michelle for several years after going to other salons, telling them what I want, and walking out unhappy or sometimes in tears. I always get what I ask for and receive numerous compliments on my style and color after a visit with Michelle! The staff is wonderful, I am always called before my appointment to remind me, am always greeted with a friendly smile and a glass of wine to soothe my cares away. I have never seen such a great group of people work together as a TEAM in a salon; Altered Images staff is eager to help one another and they make sure their clients have a great experience! Oh, and the shampoo and massage by Michelle... OMG, you will just melt - not to mention she is a sweetheart! The service, staff, and attentiveness I receive after a stressful week is worth EVERY penny!

Too expensive and snotty. I was a patron of Altered images for over 4 years. My styist, Kristi Nichols, left. I searched and searched and finally found her new place of employment-- One Hair place in friendswood. She is so sweet, honest, and one heck of a stylist, never being pushy with products or services I do not need or want. After she left, i continued to get calls from Altered images trying to get me back as a client. I did not go there for the "hoity toity"atmosphere or the "my s#$t don't stink" owner, I went there for kristi. Originally, in 2004, Kristi fixed a horrific hair cut and color i had gotten in the mall, and after that, i was hooked. But in the last year, service went WAY down. Other stylists were unprofessional, my appointment never confirmed the day before, stylist having to push products, and a 30% increase I was not warned about. This place was already pricey with a simple trim of my hair being $46 dollars-- before the increase. I given coupins in the mail to return back, however will not need them. A stylist-- and business you trust is worth more than 20% off!

You get what you pay for. I agree with the previous review regarding the price upgrade, but it is, afterall the most elite salon south of the Galleria. Kristi was my stylist for years, her prices went up but she was worth it. Altered Images is my home. Good people, wine, and conversation make this salon "My Therapy Time" every few weeks. Michelle is my new stylist now, I never knew that a shampoo massage existed! I have never felt so nurtured and relaxed in a salon in my life. Michelle put a new spin on my hair and all my friends are in awe. Her service alone is worth every penny and more. Kudos Altered Images, as long as I feel like a queen and my hair looks fabulous to boot, I'll roll with the flow.
