Awesome Highlights!. I read the previous reviews, but from my understanding the salon is under new ownership, and the service I get there is always great. I get my highlights done there, and the come out perfect every time! The prices are reasonable also.

ROSIE IS THE GREATEST!!!. If you want a great experience, see Rosie. She never fails me and trust me I have difficulth hair...thin, fine and bleached. I feel like a million dollars when I leave her chair. She's accurate, she is very good at interpreting what you want and then ACTUALLY CUTS YOUR HAIR THE WAY YOU SUGGEST, WHAT A CONCEPT. She is also very fast and does excellent work, whether it's a cut or highlights...go see her you will not be disappointed.

Great fusion extensions!!!. I went to Mechacas a few months back and got fusion extensions put in by Rosie. They look great and I couldn't stop touching my hair!! I had just came back from LA and the comparision in prices was unbeatable. It was a couple hundred bucks plus the hair (depending on length of hair and how many you have put in) In LA it's 800+ bucks!!

They are very discreet and I get compliments every day. On top of that my hair is very fine and I was nervous of how much hair I would loose. The good news is there was little to no hair loss (trust me I can't afford tolosse any) and it actually helped my hair grow!

Rosie was great and har been there for over 15 years, she knows what she is doing...

OK depending on stylist. Menchacas can be ok. I have had some bad and good experiences there. It is true thay can be rude. They accused me of lying once about my daughters age. 12 and under is a childs cut. We went before school started when she was 11 (her birthday was in a few weeks and she would be 12). Well she was not 12 yet and they accused me of lying. When I called the manager she did appoligize for the misunderstanding. I used to go there alot when they had stylist that had all been there a while.

My best perm ever. I am a hair stylist now but before I wanted to gety hair permed for the first time it was amaizing I got attention and comments about my curls like never in my life .thank you menchaca's

Depends on the stylist.... I've had Orlando cut my hair several times, and each cut has been great. He's attentive, listens to what you want, and never hurries through a cut. He's also stayed after hours for me once when I couldn't get in during his regular shift.

If you've had trouble with other stylists at Menchaca's, try Orlando. He's great.

worst salon. the first time i went they ruined my hair. the victoria secret was supposedly having a party and all of the hair stylist went off to go while mine was still cutting my hair. basically she told the others that she would be done in 5 minutes, yeah i freaked. she butchered my hair like it didn't matter this was one of the most terrible salons i've ever been too besides pony cuts.

High prices for services rendered!. Went to get a haircut, which was really good. Also got lowlites. Really liked the color, but the stylist did not color my grey roots, like I was expecting for the amount charged. What good does it do just to put in low lites for the $$$, to leave with roots showing? And he said it would cost me $55 to color just my roots, WHAT A RIP! Won't go back............

HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR HAIR BUTCHERED!. Got a really bad haircut from a new stylist who was in a rush to cut my hair so she could meet up with her boyfriend. Called owner to let him know after I couldn't lie to myself anymore about how uneven and ugly my haircut was. Owner unfriendly, insincere, and not very apologetic. Just because I went somewhere else to get the mistake fixed, owner said he couldn't do anything, offered nothing, and seemed to not care. Why would I want to go back to the same place that f----d my hair up in the first place to get it repaired? He could have maybe offered a refund. I had beautiful long hair and ended up with a chili-bowl haircut. Go here if you want people who think they know what they're doing to "style" your hair. And, God forbid that you have to talk to the owner. He doesn't give a s--t what happens to your hair.

Wouldn't recommend to even my enemies. I went to this salon for a hair cut and highlights last week. I asked for a hair specialist who has experience working with dark hair that have been dyed before. Girl who worked on my hair said that that color she is using on my hair will work even though I had dark hair. when the girl washed my hair, the scalp and the roots were the only things that showed the highlights. Since I was from out of town and was leaving the town next day, I asked for a refund. Instead of being apologetic for ruining my hair, the manager talked to me in a rude tone and hung up on me.

I wouldn't recommend this place to even my enemies.

I checked some of the reviews on yahoo after this bad experience. I wish I had checked those reviews before because other people had the same experience.
