On 8/18/12 I dropped of a necklace pendant for repair. On 10/3/12 while out of town I received a voicemail from a lady it was ready for pick up. On 10/9/12, I received a voicemail from the owner, Quote: "Do you want us to scrap it for gold or do you want to come in and pick it up. If you don't come and get it by this weekend we'll just go melt it down." I was astonished. I can't believe someone would call up especially the owner and leave such a voicemail. I immediately called back and the Individual answered. I stated that I couldn't believe the voicemail that I just received. The individual replied, "Why don't you come and pay your bills and hung up." It's not like the necklace had been there for an extended period time nor did receive any 2nd nicely spoken reminder. It'd only been a week since the 1st phone call. We were out of town, were previous customers and have always paid. There's no reason for a business to call and speak to their customers in such a threatening and arrogant manner. Took a stone there last year that took them over 3-4 months to replace we were patient and paid immediately. Bay Area Jewelers has lost any of our future business and we would not recommend them to anyone.

Don't take pearl bracelet to be shorten. They removed two pearls, yet it was actually longer due to how they reassembled it and added a different clip. We have to get more pearls removed to get it to the length we wanted it. Of course, they charged us for the 2nd resizing.

On a gold bracelet, one of the links they reattached is very weak/loose and appears to be able to break easy. We are planning on going elsewhere to get it fixed from their mistake.

Worst Customer Service. On May 6th 2010 I picked up my wedding ring that I had serviced at Bay Area Jewelers. For routine maintenance. All the prongs were repaired around the large center diamond and a few repaired around the smaller diamonds. This weekend to my horror my diamond was no larger on my ring the entire center piece had fallen out which I looked everywhere and could not find it. I went to Bay Area Jewelers to my shock there work isn’t guaranteed at all, they would not guaranty it because the ring was not purchased at there store even though they did the maintenance. BEWARE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE THEY DO NOT GUARENTY THERE WORK.I just might contact an attorney the diamond was valued at $8,000.00

Do not trust your jewelry here. I took an heirloom ring to be resized and appraised. I specifically asked if the appraisal would include color/clarity of the diamonds in the setting and was assured that it would. When I returned, the ring had been sized down smaller than agreed and the appraisal stated that the ring was yellow gold (it is white gold). After again resizing the ring properly, the appraisal did not include the information about the diamonds. When I pointed that out, the appraiser told me they won't provide that information on diamonds that size, contrary to what I'd originally been told. When I refused to accept the appraisal and pay for it, the appraiser demanded payment for his time (time to twice produce an inaccurate appraisal?) and threatened to sue me in small claims court. To get my ring back, I had to pay for the appraisal. He did add the information about the diamonds, but still wrote that some were "chipped diamonds" instead of "diamond chips".

Best place for watch batteries. Very honest people.. I brought in my wife's watch for battery as I had got battery replaced at walmart and it stopped running after just one day. They took the watch to the back and came back in a few minutes with the watch running. They did not charge me anything saying the battery was full powered it was just the connection that was not properly tightened. Thank you Bay Area Jewelers for your honesty!!!

I am not surprised that you have outlasted other biz in the area for the last 30 some years. We will keep coming back to you.

LOVE THIS STORE !!!!!!. The staff there is wonderful. We visited Bay Area Jewelers to look for an Engagement Ring. Nancy who is the sales manager there was very helpful and worked diligently to meet my Budget. I am very pleased with the purchase. She did an awsome job finding something that I fell in love with. Very courteous and professional. .... They do while you wait repairs and amazingly my ring was sized while I waited in the store... in less than 30 minutes. I recommend this store to everyone.

Lost my charm!. I went to get a chain fixed that I had a charm on. When they gave me back my chain, I placed my charm on it and within a hour both were gone! I will never take anything to them and will tell everyone not to go there. There did not even seem upset that I had lost this irreplaceable charm!

stole my watch. I took a watch handed down to me from my cousin that just passed away to get a new battery put in. The watch was a Rolex. They confirmed it was a Rolex on the receipt after they checked it out and everything. A week later I called and they said that had not gotten to it. Another week goes by and they told me again that they have not gotten to it.

After a month of being put off I went up there and demanded my watch. They did not have it. They gave me all kinds of different stories as to where my watch was and when they would have it back. After another month they quit giving me any excuse and told me the watch was not real and they would not charge me for putting a new battery in it!!! Are they serious!!!!! They sold or lost my watch and they were actually thinking about charge me!!!! I took the receipt to a lawyer where they wrote Rolex on it and the lawyer said after I spent all kinds of money I might get enough to cover just the attorney fees, being that is was handed down to me and I did not have any proof it was real.
