Editorial Review for Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
The Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1966 as a protective habitat for migratory waterfowl and other birds. The refuge covers 40,000 acres of a mixture of coastal prairies, salt and mud flats, saltwater and freshwater ponds, several saltwater lakes, and one freshwater stream. Snow and blue geese are an annual spectacle at the refuge when tens of thousands flock to the wetlands and mud flats during spring and fall migration.
