“One of the best Mexican food restaurants in town.”
How do you mess up Fajitas?.
Went here because my friends were talking about how good the drinks are and we were in the mood for some mexican food (not to mention that most of the waiters are hot) . I guess it was our luck that we got stuck with a bad waitress. When she first came to the table we asked for a drink menu. she said ok and walked off. She came back a few minutes later and asked if we knew what we were drinking. We reminded her that we were still waiting on a drink menu that she was asked for about 5 minutes ago. This time she came right back with it. We put in our drink order: 3 margaritas, 2 soda's. She brings one of the sodas and all the margaritas and disappears. We have to catch another waitress to bring us the second soda. I noticed that my rita was a large, like the others that were ordered, even though I didn't order a large. Since our waitress had disappeared and my mouth was on fire from the salsa (the salsa was the only thing that was good about the whole visit) I started drinking it. WEAK!!! I hadn't had any alcohol in several months and can still say it was WEAK! I really have to wonder if there was any alcohol in it at all! Out comes the food. Mixed Fajitas. Something that very few cooks can mess up. Well, this one managed to do so! The beef was cut with the grain instead of against it so it was tough and you couldn't eat it in the tortilla because with every bite, the meat came out. The chicken and shrimp were both dry and over cooked. Also, the meat wasn't cut into strips like at most places. It was hunks of meat. Not really what you would think when you order fajitas. I asked for extra tortilla's because I was sharing it with my child and there was only 2 in the container. They were brought right out. Not one mention (ever) about there being a charge for extra tortilla's ($1.00 for 2 tortillas) which were old and hard. Even my child, who will eat just about anything, wouldn't eat them! We get the bill and I'm shocked! My bill was $2 shy of my friends bill who had 2 rita's on it and we ordered the same thing! Only then did I discover the charge for the extra tortilla's and when I said something to her about it, she looked at me like I should've known, said we charge for extra tortillas and walked off. I figured I would say something to the manager when we were leaving. I had already decided that this was my first and last time to come here. I get to the register and told them about the extra charge for the tortillas and that I didn't order a large drink but was charged for one and they shrugged it off like it was no big deal that they had a dissatisfied customer. I told them then that this was the first and LAST time that I would be coming there and all that they said/ did was to ask me cash or credit.
The cheap prices are definately no excuse for POOR SERVICE, WEAK DRINKS, BAD WAIT STAFF AND BAD FOOD. Definately NOT RETURNING! I guess you get what you pay for!
The salsa is great.. One big, no frills dining area. Prices are very reasonable. I enjoy the chile relleno. The sort of place you expect basic, good quality food - like you wish grandma made. Kids can be kids. Seat yourself kinda place.
