It's a good idea to arrive right at 8am when the Urban Harvest Farmers Market opens in order to snag the best merchandise. Keep an eye out for local chefs trolling the booths alongside you for their share of Hatterman's eggs and local peaches.
Every Tuesday from 3:30-7pm, the Houston Farmers Market sets up shop in a Rice University lot bordering University Blvd. The same market moves to Onion Creek on Saturdays from 8am-12pm.
Folks on the Westside can get their organic produce on Thursday nights from 4pm-8pm in the courtyard of CityCentre. Ruggles Green is on the market's Advisory Group.
