It's hard to know where to start with Washington Avenue bars. There are a lot of them. It seems as if everyone out hitting the Washington Avenue bars makes it to the Drinkery at some point in the evening. A mix of beer swigging on the patio and some bump and grind inside means that this bar is simply what you make of it.
Washington Ave's standout cocktail bar keeps things as green as possible. Organic spirits go into the carefully concocted cocktails and the wine is sourced from sustainable vineyards.
With more than 90 domestic and imported beers, this is the Washington Avenue answer to the Flying Saucer. Flat screen TVs and plenty of seating make for a relaxed evening and a favorite during happy hour.
On the quiet, east side of Studemont, locals who lived in area long before the bustle head to Darkhorse for an uncomplicated night of hanging out and darts.
Not quite central to the hustle, this small, strip center wine bar offers a more subdued, cozy alternative to the nearby singles scene. The bohemian parlor is the place to enjoy a more adult beverage at a fairly low price.
Bars on Washington Ave provide more than a fair share of velvet rope and bottle service dance clubs. Blue Label's interior is awash in aqua light and machine fog and the music skews towards auto tune and techno (no 80s jams, sorry).
This former filling station turned laid back bar offers a solid selection of craft beers on tap and a few friendly games of cornhole.
