A guys night out in Houston can be different things to different fellas, but it all boils down to the same principle: quality time with your bros at a place you love. To that end, we present some of the best Houston has to offer for some hetero bonding, whether it's over a game, some food or, yes, half-naked eye candy. This popular downtown bar may seem like an obvious choice--giant beer selection, plenty of group seating and a dart board thrown in for good measure--and that's exactly what makes it such a good spot for a guys night out in Houston. Not everything has to be complicated.
This one's for all you classic gentlemen. Throw back some whiskey and enjoy a stogie at this refined River Oaks joint. After all, it's your right as a man, damn it, and that's what men do.
The only thing missing from a night of whiskey is a juicy steak. The laid-back steak nights at this Heights bar take care of that. On Thursdays from 5pm to 9pm, you can get a 16-ounce rib eye served with all the fixings for $14. Go ahead and make it your regular guys night out hang in Houston.
With no slots close by, you'll have to scratch your gambling itch at this horse racing track. Catch live racing from late January to early March, but the park is open year-round thanks to simulcasts of races from the world over. Time to bone up on your thoroughbreds.
There's always a game on at this Washington Avenue sports bar, which has plenty of flat-screen TVs, as well as great views of the downtown skyline from a patio that will make you feel on top of the world. If you're planning an epic guys night, and can swing it, reserve the clubhouse and feel like you own the place.
OK, here it is--the obligatory strip club listing. The guys night out cliche has been a go-to option since before there were dollar bills. For a non-seedy experience, check out this upscale gentleman's club, which offers free admission before 9pm on Fridays, so you can save your hard-earned money for later.
For a decidedly more innocent experience, head to this part-vintage arcade, part-sports bar. Geek out over classic games like Space Invaders and Donkey Kong, or grab a board game for a round of giant Connect Four or Jenga. You?d feel like a kid again, if it weren't for the beer.
