The devastating earthquake in Haiti has us reaching out for ways to help. Donate directly to an organization like the Red Cross, or participate in one of Houston's local efforts. MONDAY, JANUARY 18, 4pm-8pm. Texas rapper Bun B and local acts including Paul Wall, Slim Thug and Trae will perform in a "Houston 4 Haiti" concert. Pre-show tickets on the Warehouse Live website are $20. Tickets will be $30 at the box office the day of the show. All proceeds will be donated to Haiti relief funds through care.org and donation boxes will be set up at the venue. <P> FRIDAY, JANUARY 22, 6pm. Local musicians and DJs including the Factory Party, the Failed Attempt, Shark Attack and DJ Sun will be performing and local visual artists will be displaying their work, with 50 percent of their sales being donated. Other fundraising efforts include a raffle with prizes such as a $100 spa gift certificate courtesy of Houston Magazine and a pair of Muse tickets and Jay Z tickets courtesy of Live Nation. There is no cover, so donations are strongly encouraged. All proceeds will be donated to Wyclef Jean's Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. 18+
THROUGH THURSDAY, JANUARY 21. In a week-long fundraising effort, this Cypress restaurant will donate 10 percent of its sales to the Red Cross for customers who present this <a href="http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=248570673278">Facebook invitation</a> upon ordering.
TUESDAY, JANUARY 19, 6:30pm-12am. AvantGarden will be accepting donations for MercyCorps during their evening fundraiser with belly dancers and open-mic night. The bar will also be donating a portion of the evenings proceeds.
The easiest method to donate is by texting "Haiti" to 90999 on your cell phone; each text results in a $10 donation added directly to your phone bill. Donate online by visiting the Houston Red Cross home page. Click on the picture of the little boy. Once on the donation page, click International Response Fund. The Red Cross is not accepting donated goods.
THURSDAY-FRIDAY, JANUARY 21-22. Sugarbaby's will donate 50 percent of all red velvet cupcake sales to the Red Cross.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 21 7pm. Taft Street is hosting a benefit concert with four bands and Derek Webb headlining. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds go to Haiti relief.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20 7pm. People Power and Haiti Counts have joined with the Houston Institute for Culture and BahalaNa Tribe for a fundraiser featuring live music and traditional Filipino food. Suggested donation $10. Proceeds go to the Haiti Relief Fund set up by Caribbean Impact.
